Well... that is very good to see. I hope his company is a major success. Something for everyone to study/learn from... and point their fingers at and say " See!!! It can be done and be super profitable too!!" Making it profitable... makes mass adoption a reality!
    Thanks for sharing Murray!

@Taddy _Using this method they grow over 4,000 pounds of organic vegetables per month... with only about 3,000 square feet of space. That's is just about the size of a well sized yard!_

That's great that they are doing $1.2 million in SALES per month but that doesn't mean that any of it is PROFIT. I don't doubt that they can make a profit but there's obviously a MASSIVE investment in that facility to grow on that scale that has to be paid back. Profit could be 60% or it could be 6% or it could be (-6%). Construction and equipment aside, the cost of water, power, labor, fuel to heat the greenhouse and the cost of fish food plays an enormous part in their costs.
I'd love to hear someone tell how much their sales are AND how much their profit is as well as a general layout of where their monthly expenses go.

I'm guessing there is a profit in there somewhere.

Dean PD Guessing there's a profit in there somewhere is usually a pretty good way to go broke.

I would also like to see numbers posted on Gross vs. Net profitablity.... But understand this, that in aquaponics, profitablity in aquaponics has more to do with sales than production... for the product... The production capacity is not as big a factor as sales at a profitable scale... Your ability to land good contacts and get your product to the consumer efficiently and without major losses of quality.... It is a quantity game, because the profitablity off of each piece is relatively low...

What is this chemical from what plant you need for face cream?

  • @samoh6084

Good work. But there is a question remaining regarding what if the market becomes over saturated. The price of vegetables that are grown in facilities like these will go down and sellers will eventually have to compete for a lower price. I feel like this would be a good idea as a national project but I don't know if the industry would be able survive as a private business entity.

How much longer are aquaponicly grown plants fresh?

    • @michaelwould
      @michaelwould 5 лет назад +3

weeks, they keep the roots so they are "alive" when they are harvested instead of being killed. by selling living plants they stay much fresher longer.

No, I grew this one especially for you, it's made in the old fashioned way with a lot of chemical fertilizers and poisons. Enjoy

Im working in Aquaponic farm. This system is not yet suitable for bigger scale. But if you have passion in growing plant make it just for you and your family , dont do it for profit except you are growing Cannabis in legal country 😅

This guys numbers are way off. There’s no way he’s grossing $1.2 million a month off 200,000 plants a month. This guy is super full of it. I wish aquaponic people would tell the real truth 🙃.

The cycle for lettuce is usually about 6weeks from seedling to finished head at 65-70°F with good lighting... It all depends on the crop and conditions, though... Since seeds can be started in smaller trays and grown for a couple weeks then transplanted, you are looking at only about 4 weeks in your large system....

I wouldnt look to much into special compounds only produced from aqauponics. It's an Asian thing regarding face creams etc. Once sold a sham they run with it in Asia. Just like Aus vitamins they pay big dollars for then yet there still the most expensive piss you can take.

The video is titled “ how profitable is aquaponics” .
They discussed not using certain products as it would poison the system for the fish.
And you’re telling someone it’s a hydro system?
      This is DWC aquaponics.

I think they get a bit more sun and heat in that part of the world. I expect there would be a few benefits from separating the mediums from the fish space. Piped in under the ground to get temps down, humidity down , resulting in fans being on less maybe. Probably have warm water fish like talapia that can impact the whole system from their water temps.
