- XA-38 GRIZZLY is a premium plane in USA tech tree in War Thunder. It has 75mm cannon that is almost identical to the one used by sherman tank. Additionally it can carry up to four 500lb bombs. That makes it one of the best planes to destroy tanks in Ground Realistic battles.

Definitely the best big gun plane.
-Good 75mm
-Four 500 incorrect-measurement-system bombs, 3 drops
-Defensive turrets which are actually capable of defending you and have very good coverage
-Offensive machinegusn which not only exist but are also somewhat usable
-3.3/3.7 br but it's still rank IV
-Amazing lineups, mainly because of welded M4s
-Cool camo
Way better than the Duck. Ki-109 is cool too, much more limited but it's at much lower br.
Nah, i found the gun of the duck to be way more reliable. It shoots faster so you can miss multiple shots in an attack and still make adjustment for killing shot and you get an actual scope, with Grizzly you have to third person aim
@@Rumpelpumpel3 The Duck is also pretty much defenceless, barely flies and can't carry any bombs. XA-38's gun definitely isn't unreliable from my experience, easy oneshots unless you hit the the engine or transmission far from the crew and ammo.
I don't mind the 3rd person aim, I actually prefer it.

Grizzly probably is the best cannon strike fighter, but the ducks gun is just plain much better

Also, I meant it as more like "the best plane with a big gun" and not "the best big gun on a plane".

My two recommendations for newer players flying this aircraft: don't spawn it in in heavily contested airspace during ground battles since making effective gun runs requires flying in a long straight line and makes you very easy kill for enemy fighters. The other suggestion is to spend time flying it in air rb, you get a good airspawn and rack up more time learning the cannons ballistics. It is pretty easy to get at least ten ground target kills and least one air kill routinely in air rb.
In my opinion this is one of the best premiums simply for its high performance, high learning curve, and ability to have fun with long term. It also fits in very well with the USA ground lineup at its rank and even above its rank
I just have a special place in my heart for planes with big guns that can be used to kill tanks 😂
But overpressure made some guns actually very effective in killing open tops just using HE :3
HE rounds are more effective now with overpressure. Not a bad option for dealing with SPAA if you can use it at a range.

This is one of my few 10/10 planes personally. If you can multi task well and have the patience to learn this thing it’s absolutely devastating every second it’s in the air. 3.7 is my main money making tier because of this thing and the M4A5 ram
Can you do a How to play the Do-217's (including the low tier one's) for me? I am trying to figure out how to use them effectively 😔
I always take the 5050 mix of AP and HE for the 75mm just because I want to be able to take out spaa without getting in close or risking serious damage. And of course overpressure can be very useful
It does mean you have to be more careful with the AP shots but it is what it is😅
