    • @krishvanshknu6889
      @krishvanshknu6889 4 года назад +2

      This is bcz lead has an oxide film just like you studied in your magnesium ribbon experiment. So this oxide film reduces the reactivity of lead which is below the oxide film cuz water cant reach to that part.

    How electrons can be to Na+ as it has valency +1 so it will loss electron rather than gaining....... But it is also right that on cathode there is always reduction means gain of electron..... So confusing 😵plzzzz clear it.... 🙏🙏🙏

    • @bandanagupta7494

      Yes, Na + hai 1 electron in valence shell so it will loose electron...and if any element loose electron then it will have positive charge also called electr positive element

      @@MagnetBrainsEducation sir sodium has atomic number as 11 so it will have one electron in outermost shell but it has already given its one electron to chlorine so after that it has 2 and 8 as configuration so this time it is stable but when again it will gain one more electron so it will have its configuration as 2,8,1 and by this we can say it is not stable

      @@GulzarAhmad-i8c Hey, boards is soooooo close i think i can help brudda. So basically here they are not technically adding a electron, then are writing (Na^+) + e^-. Now here the Na^+ has configuration 2,8 and we have the e^- aside. Hope u understand my friend

    S ir how are metals of high reactivity converted into their oxides or chlorides if they are in some other form like sulphide

      Dear Student,
      Thank you for your question. Metals of high reactivity are converted into their oxides or chlorides by a process called electrochemical reaction. This process involves passing an electric current through the metal in order to create a chemical reaction.
      You can find more information
