    I showed the bike at 18:20 with the Maxi Cosi baby car seat to my wife and the conversation turned into you can get an ecargo bike if we can have another baby 😂.
    Love the channel btw.

    Love to see Urban Arrow improving so much.
    I just got my UA Family in June and it looks outdated already, when seeing the next year generation with Gen4 Bosch System, Zee brakes, new Rack etc....
    (but I'd never wait for the next gen...because riding the UA is the best thing you can do :-))

      I think this is the perfect attitude! There is always something around the corner, but there is nothing like riding today 😊

    I have two for my work in London. Great load carriers. Very sturdy and reliable.

      They are definitely solid! We have seen many in use in London. Maybe we’ll see more commercially used cargo bikes in the states soon ;)

    Why are the US models still on Gen 2 motors while Europe gets Gen 3 and Gen 4?

    The specs are nice, but what is the autonomy of a battery, considering the 300kg weight + the person riding it..?

    Any idea when we’ll see actual availability of gen 4 motor and belt drive Urban Arrows in North America? I know he said 2020, but anything more concrete?

      Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like it will be fall 2020. We’re trying to get them sooner, but fall seems like a realistic date at the moment.

    7:20 Do you think these much larger versions will be all that different than cars? Also, will the motors be capable of taking these up large hills?

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  5 лет назад +1

      I think these wide ones are good for small urban areas they will work. More pedestrianized areas than bike lanes. In Amsterdam there are many areas like this and NYC is starting to create more like Brooklyn Bridge Park and the West Side.
      DHL uses another bike called the Armadillo and it is only 30” wide but can carry up to 600 lbs with the 5th wheel trailer option. I think there is a benefit to these types of vehicles, especially where cars aren’t and shouldn’t be allowed. The fact that these have a low top speed make them great for areas where only bikes and pedestrians are allowed.
      For hills, as long as they have the right gearing they’ll have no trouble. They are actually using a Rohloff hub on many of the really heavy duty ones to allow for a really low gear for climbing with a load.

    • @christopherdixon153
      @christopherdixon153 4 года назад

      @@Propelbikes If you consider that they add the Bosch Cargo Line setup to that as well, you have something that really is quite epic at pushing load up hills.

    Why not a trike which would make it more stable?

    • @nonegone7170
      @nonegone7170 Год назад

      Trikes tend to tip over at speed, and these are a lot more narrow, which offers advantages.

    I see more and more "bakfietsen" in Rotterdam. A lady was driving with 4 children in the front, only the child seat on the back was empty. I see the Urban Arrow the most.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 года назад +1

      The Urban Arrow is actually built in Rotterdam. I got to visit their factory there briefly. Unfortunately I didn't get to see much more of the city, but I hope to soon and I will definitely look you up Leo :)

      Sorry Hallands, it’s tough because of the different audiences and we also try to keep it moving. I’ll usually mention the price in individual reviews but not as much on these k overview videos. I’ll keep it in mind for the future. Maybe we can put links with prices in the description. Someone has asked for that before.

      Propel Electric Bikes It's mainly important to know at least the price classes and maybe the approximate difference between the standard and the fully equipped variety. Doesn't have to be too specific, but I find myself wondering if we're talking 7,000€, 12,000€ or more ...

    • @Propelbikes

      ever see the math on charging an electric vehicle versus buying gasoline? it's not good. gas is way cheaper.
      the batteries don't last for a year and replacement is not cheap.

  • @josephkaz9093

    The only area I don't see much innovation here is with security. In London, bike theft is one of the main reasons people don't like owning expensive bikes. Can we not have motion alarms etc like you see on hire bikes? Also, the cafe lock doesn't look 'beefy' enough for my liking.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 года назад

      I would also like to see more in this area. We’ve been looking to some of the lock companies for solutions and they are delivering some results, but we could definitely use more options. Especially in the city.

  • @greedfox7842

    those look heavy as fuck. have fun pushing that.
    and if it is electric, why not just get a moped? mopeds are cheap AF and you can add a trailer.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 года назад +3

      I recommend trying to ride one before passing judgement. You can’t carry 4 kids on a moped.

    • @greedfox7842
      @greedfox7842 4 года назад

      @@Propelbikes yeah, but I can buy a car for this price tag and the 4 kids would actually be safe, and I don't have to act like I am pedaling.
      I honestly just don't get the point of electric bikes, other than dodging the car insurance and registration and licensing, and it won't be long before electric bikes get regulated there. especially the big ones like these.

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  4 года назад +3

      I guess the good news is we don’t all have to agree for us to be happy. Enjoy the car

      @@greedfox7842 "yeah, but I can buy a car for this price tag"
      Sure you could, i could also buy an electric cargo bike for a thousand bucks.
      That's about 1/8th the fuel costs of a car per year alone...
      Then comes maintenance.
      Insurance.
      Taxes.
      Getting a license. (which is on average about a thousand euro)
      And all that money and effort, just to get stuck in traffic in an inner city?
      I'll keep my cargo bike.
