Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for putting out these videos. They have really helped me a lot and I look forward to more of your videos in the future!
Sitting at the Table and not playing for 70% of the time (True Count -0) doesn't seem very low profile. Say you buy in @ a true 1, get 2 hands in and the count plummets. Are you supposed to just sit there until the end of the shoe and wait for a shuffle and attempt to enter in the middle of the next shoe? (if you even get a positive count on the next shoe)
I like to backcount two tables at a time. Not necessarily simultaneously, but if one is tanking negative and the other is just about to shuffle I'll turn my attention to it. If they both are in the middle and the count isn't good, I'll go find two others, or hit the bathroom and come back when they are about to shuffle. It sucks not playing, but it is so much better than playing through negative counts.
I assumed one had to play through neg counts to get the hours necessary to reach the long-run. Doesn't a generous bet spread on positive counts allow one to play through moderate neg counts like -1 to -2 tc, stepping out at neg counts of
This it very true. Unfortunately, the games around me don't have respliting aces, so I typically have it turned off. About a month ago, I found a good game in Colorado that had resplitting aces! That was nice!
No, but rule of thumb the shorter the better (as long as your risk of ruin also remains low) It essentially means the number of hours before you are "guaranteed a profit" if you're playing correctly. If you play those many hours and are below your starting amount, you are doing something incorrect. Additionally, it uses 1 standard deviation from EV to show that 84% of people playing this way will be above one standard deviation below EV. I think I am saying that correctly, but obviously the math is a bit heady.
When talking about bankroll are we talking about how many chips we have on the table while playing? ore just the TOTAL we would be willing to buy in for if first or second buy in was a bad shoe?
Bankroll is the total amount you own that your willing to risk at the casino. You don't have to bring it all with you. The amount you have with you is often called a "trip bankroll"
@Meeky815 I am pretty certain BJA doesn't sell your email. I talked with Colin yesterday, he runs a legit website. But if you're concerned, make a new Gmail account, I have like 6 (this isn't my only RUclips Channel).
Does this includes the UK blackjack where dealer takes only one card at first ...2nd card is taken after all othersntake cards ...so it can change depending on card count...and no insurance bets for all only even money on dealers Ace card.
So a standard deviation is something for statistics, I'm sure you've seen the meme where it's like "_____ thing is hard" at the very left then "____ thing is easy" in the middle at the center then "blank thing is hard" on the right over soemthing that looks like a hill Its basically saying ____ is hard if you're stupid or extremly smart but average people are too stupid to understand all the tiny nuances and too smart to just not grasp the concept That's a bell curve and 66% of all people will fall within 1 standard deviation of the norm. 95% fall within 2 standard deviations 99.7% fall within 3 But there is never a 100% sector there is an infinite amount of standard deviations The standard deviation is saying (since it's not a consistent paycheck) 66% of people will get 33/hour give or take 300$ and 95% will get 33/hour give or take 600$ etc. I dont really understand N-O myself ngl
Standard deviation is the amount of variance you can expect per hour, the bigger the number the bigger swings you can expect. And N0 is the time it take to "get to the long run" in simple terms. The smaller the number, the better. Fewer hours to come out ahead if you play perfectly.
As long as the count calls for it. So say it's at a true +7 agaunst a dealer's 4 with one deck remaining. Split, and get a 10, now it drops to a true +6, that's still good enough to split, but on the next one if you pull another 10, the count dropped to +5, which is too low to split against a dealer's 4, so then you'd stay.
Is everything the same? Starting bankroll, rounds per hour, h-17, no surrender, using deviations, no rsa, playing one vs 2 hands, wonging out, Pen. There are a ton of variables, it's probably hard to match perfectly.
Decide if you'd rather get backed off or lose your bankroll. Backcount, if the table is positive play until it gets back to zero. Then go find another one. Jumping tables doesn't look suspicious at these low of stakes. If your bankroll is high enough, hopefully you can get a table to yourself and be able to handle the ROR at that point.
@@A1-BJ is there any way to roughly calculate what the average loss per hour would be on a $15 minimum bet playing through negative counts? I lost probably $600 on my first trip by not wonging. But the only reason I played through is because in my 15-20 hours practicing at home and keeping stats, playing the entire shoe start to finish unless it was super negative didn't seem to have much effect on my stats. But I guess my sample size was not large enough. Any thoughts?
hi friend, i don't find wonging particularly useful. semi-wonging is a lot more useful, and finding no mid entry tables to maximize hands per hour. to make money at BJ, it's all about increasing hands/hr, finding good deck pen, and playing good rules like S17, DAS, RSA, etc. Wonging/backcounting means you will be playing at a table full of people. Not a good thing.
I agree it's no fun to Wong out, I'd suggest starting shoes, and have a true count limit, like -2, that you Wong out from. It will save your bankroll if it is small. If you have a substantial bankroll, 75,000+, you can afford to play more negatives.

If you have a big bankroll, it's okay to play through with a big spread, but anything below a true 1, and you don't have an advantage on that hand.
In this software you didn’t enable splitting aces. I think it would have helped you EV a bit. Good video. Thanks

I havent been able to find better than 4.75 and even that was rare. Living in EU
