Thanks, Professor! I didn't realize these other forms to analyze negative cases.

You have great teaching skills! All your videos are extremely helpful and comprehensible. I can’t thank you enough.
I have a question. I hope that you can help. Can negative case analysis occur if I compared my findings with the findings of previous studies and then find that there are some contradictions? In other words, is negative case analysis related to the findings of my study only?
    Thank you.

You can compare the findings to previous studies and conclude that they are different, which is interesting because it means you are contributing something new to the discussion. However, this is not a negative case analysis. Negative case analysis refers to negative cases among other cases in Your study

Thanks Dr. Kuriukow. As part of a mixed-methods study, I have done a thematic analysis using 5 semistructured interviews. I was trying to do the negative case analysis, but I couldn't really find any negative cases. It could be because of not using structured interviews. Though there were no negative cases, I could find some of the cases were standing out when it comes to some of the themes. Can you suggest what could I do best in this situation? Is it appropriate to explain why some cases are outjutting instead of negative case analysis, and probably call it 'extreme case analysis'? Thanks

Thank you. Are Negative cases the same as Discrepant cases in qualitative interviews?

Not sure, I have never heard the term discrepant cases but from the sound of it, yes
