  • Over a week later with the TicWatch Altas and... Yes, the smartwatch created by @Mobvoi and released several weeks ago. I pre-ordered this pretty, yet rugged, timepiece before Halloween 2024 and it just arrived on Monday, 12/02/2024. Yes, I quickly unboxed, charged, strapped it on my wrist, and went to bed... Alas, there has been a few glitches over the first 88 hours (#backtothefuture reference)
    The Atlas is on sale for $244.99 instead of $349.99 via the Mobvoi website. Whereas on Amazon it is selling for $329. Here is my Affiliate link: amzn.to/3VE48sl

    Thank you for watching my video about watches... Today is Day 12 wearing the Atlas and far fewer errors than listed in the video. Yes, the first week was a tad rough. Last night Mobvoi pushed out an update for the Atlas, and so far so good! And the TicWatch Atlas is on sale for $244.99 instead of $349.99 via the Mobvoi website. Whereas on Amazon it is selling for $329. Here is my Affiliate link: amzn.to/3VE48sl

    I must give you massive credit I would have lost my mind if that was me in that position
    The app not responding with the watch
    The sync between the watch and phone
    The watch not responding to the spinning crown
    The hardware is nice software needs definitely a upgrade
    Like I said mobvoi should never release a watch until everything fully tested otherwise it’s a failed product
    It’s still early days who knows maybe things could change for the better in a couple weeks
    Thank you pete for taking your time to report, detail and analyse your tests 👏🙌 never giving up

      Thank you, Big Max, and now that I am on Day 12, yes, the watch is much better 😊 A very rough start and I wanted to shove it back it the box and then... The Atlas design grew on me.

    Great video and nice looking watch, I am mainly a non-smart watch collector and wearer..sold my Garmin Crossover Tactical. It was fine for sleep patterns and such but eh just wasn't for me..May give this one a try.

      Why thank you commenting positively. I spent around seven hours filming, editing, and researching to create that video. The audio needed more work and yet, so does the pace ;) As for the TicWatch Atlas, yeah, I fell in love with the way it looks on my wrist, the AOD (always-on display), the dual screens, the fun to use TimeShow app for a vast assortment of watch faces. At the end of the day, yes, even a smartwatch must tell me the time of day. I want to see Mobvoi do more with their Essentials Mode, or hand it over to the Users...

      @ you’re very welcome. Wow a lot of time into it. It was great and very informative. The problem I have with the big guys like Garmin and Apple is their over hype and the cost. My daughters as well as my wife have Apple Watches and they are always complaining about battery life. At least the Garmin Crossover not overly fancy but did everything I wanted. And it was solar I really never had to charge it ever. However I just got to wanting to wear my analog automatics. But I do like the Atlas. Think I’ll order one. Thanks again for the video

      Yes, many of my friends have Apple, Garmin, Samsung, and Amazfit. Both Amazfit and Mobvoi create affordable watches that are fun to wear. I am easily reaching three days of battery life with using smartmode and doing GPS outdoor workouts wearing the Atlas. At night the TicWatch Atlas programmatically goes into a sleep mode and slips into Essential Mode to save battery life and then boots itself back into smart-watch mode at a designated time. I configured mine to go into "sleep mode" from 21:00 to 08:00 to allow for sleeping in here at there when life allows.

    • @tcwhite0104
      @tcwhite0104 Месяц назад +7

      @ when in sleep mode at that time does it still track sleep patterns

    • @PeterHerget
      @PeterHerget  Месяц назад +4

      Yes, you can wear the Atlas, and other previous TicWatch versions and keep it in the "essentials mode" or EM for short. And I have left in EM for days and it tracks quite a bit of health data in that low-power mode, sleep modes is one of them. According to the website, it could last up to 45 days in EM.

    Hi
    How it is a month later?
    Thinking of getting it.
    There is a sale going on right now and I think it is worth it at this sale price. Like the look too.
    Was there any update since?
    TY

      @PeterHerget  7 дней назад +1

      I just charged it after just six days in "Essentials Mode." The battery life is less than advertised and I find that with most smart watches. As far as an AMOLED WearOS smartwatch, yes, it is pretty cool and fun to wear. If you can get it on sale for around $150 or $200, sure, I feel it is worth the money. I hope the Mobvoi makes more improvements with the Essentials Mode of their famous TicWatch soon...

    Brother you must have gotten a faulty watch. Mine works fine for all the problems that you mentioned except temperature sensor. I cant seem to find out how to measure skin temperature even though its written in the box that it has temperature sensor.

    I think I am going to buy TicWatch Atlas silver. I had all TicWatch Pro watches and only with two of them problems. TicWatch Pro 4g/LTE restarter all time, Mobvoi gave me new one. On TicWatch Pro 3 water get in and Mobvoi gave me new one and water gat in again and Mobvoi gave me new watch once again. This one was OK. So waterproof on TicWatch Pro 3 was shit. Now I have TicWatch Atlas black but I think silver is more beautyfull. Is it? And price is so low for that tipe of watch for now. 198 EUR on discount.
    I see your TicWatch Atlas is full of bugs. I don't have that bugs you have. Yes I have bugs, but not close number you had. I didn't have connection or syncing problems at all, but I am using Sony XPERIA 1 VI and maybe problem is with One Plus. For other bugs maybe they fixed all that in second update I got. But again maybe some of the bugs would go away if you used other smartphone brand.

      WOW, that was quite the comment. Yes, a few bugs here and there with the Mobvoi TicWatch Atlas. Mostly with GPS workouts where the TicHealth app locks up and a restart does not even fix the problem. I was able to track an outdoor GPS workout this morning, no errors. Yes, the silver TicWatch Atlas looks great. I will work on another video about the Atlas soon and include any new bugs or difficulties...

    Atlas or Enduro or Pro5 @ current sale prices?

    • @PeterHerget

      I would go with the Atlas for I like the look of the silver bezel with gray strap. As they have said for centuries… beauty & style are in eye of the wearer 🤓

      @PeterHerget  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, the software is buggy at times and connectivity issues with a number of devices, but in fairness to the company, they are very good at releasing software updates thus far. I have high hopes for this Atlas version 🤞🤞

      @@PeterHerget Mobvoi promised a new wear OS with the Ticwatch Pro 3. They couldn't keep their promise for a few years. They had to block comments on all social media for months. I don't remember it very well but their PR was very poor and they lost a lot of customers including me. Software bugs, no response to customer questions and update dates that were a joke.

      Yikes and that is very alarming to read. I will be careful and read any fine print if they decide to collaborate or offer me free products to review. I bought the TicWatch Atlas with my own money. I was able to get the Black Friday discount and saved $100

    • @PeterHerget
      @PeterHerget  Месяц назад

      Thank you for letting me, and everyone else know. Yeah, I have been blindsided by several watch companies over the past five years with hallow promises from the Marketing Departments. After those experiences, yeah, I buy the watch as is without any future features in mind. However, that should be the case. Companies need to be more careful about what they advertise and promote to customers.
