Some people are surprised by how assertive I can really be, in that I seem friendly, but once you've crossed me or my boundaries, there's no coming back!
Yes! I've always felt people have taken my kindness for weakness. Then when they push me too far, maybe even to the point of violence, they are SHOCKED and want NOTHING to do with it. I'm not a talker... I hate explaining myself in general. They tell me everything but they show me nothing.
It’s such the mistake that people make about us! We are literally so kind and generous and easy-going and believe that how we treat people is how they should treat us because everybody knows and is aware of how they are treating another person. When people gaslight us or blow us off and then return as if they never blew us off and then try to gaslight us as if it’s our fault, poof, door slam, always catches them off guard and they are mystified. It was a very unexpected response, the door slam no response. People very much underestimate us until it’s far too late. And just like you said there’s no coming back once somebody crosses the boundary of kindness, reciprocity and consideration.
People may think it's cool, but it's honestly quite annoying that you naturally trigger people with low self-esteem. Mainly because you see in bulk, how many people have an extremely low sense of self-worth. Sucks to be them... Great video today.
I am dealing with this now at my new work. I have different interests and hobbies, whether going on long runs, trying to get homework done on break, reading over watching shows or packing my own lunch. I also get most of my tasks done within the first few hours of work, which leaves me more free time to help others out. I don't really care how others choose to live their lives, even if the contrast is significant; I like variation and differences are important and make the world a more interesting place, but I often get made fun of in a "joking" way because I make my own choices that do not align with everyone else. It is why I never share more than I have to.
Sometimes it is hard to stay quiet but that’s why I do it. Though there is huge urge inside to completely dominate and shut ppl down before they continue on their path of confrontation or destruction

Has anyone here ever experienced a total stranger just staring at you looking at you up and down with a smirk on their face and you can see the thought bubble above their heads saying “Who TF does this guy think he is?”? I’ve experienced this on many occasions and these idiots with low self esteem can get very annoying at times especially when you’re just minding your own business.
INFJ semi-Sigma, 65yom (today is my bday). There are lots of old INFJs and other old people. But then again, I don't think most young INFJs are ageists. I know I wasn't. The old women at a Unitarian-Universalist church I sometimes attended in the early 1970s were so funny. "The hippies were right about everything!"
