    don't fret none about the age of the amp. the basic design & circuits have not changed much.
    I have the FT-891 too. It likely does more power than the amp if you turn up the power and feed it with a good 35A power supply..

      This is my second one , great radios Neil thinking of getting the matching atu for the radio as bought a 12m spider beam pole for going portable also , first 891 i had Max Mountain bought it over in the french alps

      @@walesunt I am on the look out for one,yeah the matching ATU looks great and not to pricey.

    I would have thought it would at least doubled.. was it measuring pep or average on ssb I couldn't quite see if the button was in or out.
