FYI: we still use feet and inches here in the UK, although we also use meters too, but for longer distances we tend to use feet or miles rather than meter or km, probably because we still use mph rather than kph for speeds. We basically still use imperial measurements but sometimes also use metric measurements, like for milk and beer it's pints but Coca-Cola and the like it's in litres (ml not cl though). We're weird like that. Anyway I need to plan a trip to Thorpe Park for the opening season of this ride, just so I can keep the claim of having rode both the tallest ride in the UK (currently the big one) and in Europe too (red force)

If they execute it right, then every element is gonna be absolute bonkers. It could be longer but from my experience short but intense rides do not feel short and this could be one of the most intense coasters out there. Definitely has the potential to be one of the best in Europe. And I so hope it will be Mack, they've been stepping up their game a lot in the recent years

    • @timk987
      @timk987 2 года назад

Thought the same, and Joe Draves does design work for S&S so it's no wonder why Taylor thinks it looks "RMC-like"
But with the story of Mack going to Turkey for sound tests on Hyper Coaster and the lift and loop sequence looks very much like Hyper Coaster at Land of Legends, plus the artist renderings look very Mack, so I'll go with Mack, final answer.

Since Vekoma and S&S somewhat merged, if it's built does it count as both? Cause I get steel curtain vibes, but I can also see if working with vekoma in a joint project perhaps improving upon that model in the future far as operations/functionality/etc. The one picture without the track definitely makes me think of both of them, though if they went with Mack they'd get the most reliable version at the very least, maybe even set a car backwards or something possibly. I feel like it won't be intamin to save on expense right now, but then again that would depend on the actual time-table-more years=more money to spend.

Some info about Thorpe Park: the old town section is a little while away from the front entrance (and only entrance) and all the kiddy rides and other things there are very much hated. No surprise here that they are removing them in favour of a thrill ride. However a few years ago they closed loggers leap, which was quite a fun ride and a classic to the park, and started removing small parts over time (e.g. the lift hill). It was very sad, but definitely expected as it was really old. Honestly, this park seriously needs airtime so I'm glad this is finally happening

Surprised you didn't mention S&S; I get Steel Curtain vibes from the concept images. My money is on Mack personally, though.

My initial thought was S&S like Steel Curtain

The manufacturer could also be Gerstlauer!

The style of the layout and elements is intamin but who knows. Maybe because Mack rides has never done something like that.. the only coaster that has some different elements is Lost Gravity

Another manufacturer that could do this would be Gerslaurer, but I do doubt that at the same time

How about a MACK extreme spinning coaster? Obviously with the lift hill instead of the LSM’s how crazy would that be?

I wouldn't rule-out S&S as a possible designer/manufacturer. Some of those renderings look a lot like "Steel Curtain".

I’m pretty sure Blackpool will find a way to drain the sea 2ft In order to reclaim the record

Exodus is 236 feet and is like 25 feet above sea level making 261 feet. So jokes on Blackpool lmao

Bold prediction: what this is the very first time RMC T-Rex model?
This going to age badly but I tried.

This looks like an s&s to me, very steel-curtain-esque

Some bits of track look a bit like The Smiler to me - any chance it's going to be a Gerstlauer?

I just noticed when you go back to Europe this summer, you will get to see this right?

Depends on whether or not he does the UK. I don't think it was in the original plans for the 2020 Europe trip and I don't think anything has really been added here since that would change that.

The first summer that it'll be operating will probably be 2024, so no.

to me, it kinda looks like a shorter version of steel curtain, so maybe S&S could be one of the possible manufacturers

It would have a chance to be if it wasn't so hard to build roller coasters in the UK as it is

gravity group is obviously the manufacturer building this.
