They should not be doing this to kerala! Its an almost 130 year old dam! Its high time that a new dam is built .... This is a matter concerning the safety of millions of lives and billions remaining affected! TN should not be playing with the life of such a ginormous number of people for monetary benefits!
There are 234 dams over 100 years old dams in India are we gonna decommission them all now?? They have been talking about this dam for decades. Meanwhile so many disasters have happened in Kerala. That means Dam is in better condition than the entire Kerala. So my suggestion is leave the dam alone and decommission the entire kerala. And locate people in the rest of the states in India. Spend budget once on this territory than spending 100 times a year.

@@skd7626 my brother is. geologist who is fron kerala , now in bhutan , who checked the dam and he said that the dam is strong enough and its all politics , so that the govt can decommision the dam, pass the water through idukki dam and make good profit from hydrolectricity.

Kerala should be made unsafe for tourism and they cannot promote tourism in a disastrous territory like this. Indian gov will be held responsible for disasters happening in future at tourism spots. Aparently the kerala government was warned by various research organizations in India since wayanadu is situated in disaster sensitive zone 1 therefore they had to stop the tea plantation, tourism, infrastructure development, stone mining, and deforestation in region disaster took place. Yet the government and Entire Kerala ignored it for their PROFITS. Now they are using it to decommission this stable dam . Wayanadu was proven unsafe and you ignored indian research society. Kerala and its people killed people of 2-3 villages for their PROFITS. Show proof that this dam is unsafe?????
