Thanks for the Content I have had a hard time finding someone to show how to make floor bracing structures & replacing wood structure with metal structure for the body they usually talk about it but that don't show it. I did find one other guy I think his channel is rat rod Bob.

Ya unfortunately not a lot of people doing that type of work and making videos of it.

Glad you moved the body forward. That rear wheel well looks much better!

Ya. It bothered me. It was like that for two day. Haha. I couldn’t take it. I just needed to get more square tubing to build the back floor structure again.
That’s why it stayed that way for a few days.

Hey from Northern I hope you don't run out of parts soon the build just keeps getting better and better for the next owner I'd like to make a play for it and chop the top down a little add a few of my own touches and drive it around in your honor East Coast meets west coast

Looks like a cast iron power glide. Two speed. That vacuum line goes to the modulator valve. It controls shifting.

Good not using the tunnel. Really too small to get much out of it, and also with the dpubt about the shifter. Real doing good Mike! Hope you feeling better ! Thanks for the vids!

Hey Mike -- I know you feel that maybe RUclips was a Little "pushy" for you to put this build together & taking time away from your other projects And... Especially the time Away from You & Allie. ---- Big Kudos to You & from one Dirt Bike Rider to Another "Keep Pushin' On." Thank You Very Much for these videos they are Very Helpful.

It’s not RUclips. It’s me. I push myself. I’ve always been this way. Things take longer than always anticipated.
I’m happy they’re helpful and it keeps me motivated making upcoming and new videos.
      Thanks you 😎👍🏼

You need to take care of yourself. No one is going to do it for you. One of the things I like most about you is your drive. Love the build. you've doing great. Thanks for sharing with us.

Hello Mike. Best thing to do is to do what your body is telling you. I’ve just dun a couple out the blue night shifts. Thinking I would be able to get up and do jobs. Not a chance really through my body clock out. Not knowing what set up is going to happen is difficult and how far to go. Not just material but time as well. Looks good so far. Cheers for your time.

I've been watching not just ur chan but some other rodders and u guys are getting sick trying to beat deadlines....please take care of urselves, mechanical work is hard and dangerous when we are not urselves....I'd leave the tunnel for the next dude....give him what parts u think ud use and sell all for 80% done....I think the rear end should be in center of side look....I know u don't want to do it but it will make the next guy happier....pax....rew

    • @ThisOldHotrod
      @ThisOldHotrod  Год назад +1

I don’t really have a deadline. I’m just tired from working a full time job and spending long days in the shop. I’ve been taking my time w it lately and not pushing as much. 👍🏼

Time is cheap, life ain't, I think the drop is good....forward good...let's make the channels straight so whomever is the next in line can make this not a ratrod but a ride he and his fam can be proud of.....pax....rew

How's this for a non-traditional hot rod, with a Corvair engine (replacing regular engine), transaxle in back with second gen independent rear suspension?
Oops, I've likely suggested the above before on your channel, sorry for repeating myself? ;-)

Car is coming along. I know you are building to pass on to someone else. That person is going to get a nice hotrod to finish.

I feel like this is affecting more people than realized. I have project goals this year, but my body, feet especially, are not allowing it. It’s more a focus to just get through my day job now and that’s a shame as I’m only 35. But that being said building cars is not the easiest on your body. I get out when I can and have good days in the shop but I pay for it days after.
Funny I could work all night before 2019….

Last summer I changed my diet. I eliminated wheat and bread from my diet. It was life changing when it came to my energy level and overall heath. I slipped back into my previous ways. I’ll be eliminating some foods again. (I already have).
It’s a noticeable difference for sure.

@@ThisOldHotrod I’m really hoping this spring I’ll come out of my winter funk and just push through it. I had a good push for about 4 months a couple years ago and got our 33’ pickup going before my daughter was born. Last fall I put in three good months on my coupe. Then didn’t touch it until last week.
I work on semis as a day job and the last year I’ve done about a dozen in frames. Pulling the torques on the main bearings under these big cats has really takin it’s toll lately. Never thought I’d feel like this at this age. Time for more blood work I reckon. But we’ve finally caught up and I’m getting a little more time to take care of my body. I’ve cut out sodas, and sweet drinks. Don’t do a lot of sugars really, definitely going to try cutting back on more carbs too see what happens.
