Just noting, that your demo would have been more impactful if you had compared them to the sm57 directly...but you are right... they both sound good for different reasons...
Thanks Robert, I just didn’t have the funds for the SM57 but you are right, wish I could’ve compared it to the 57, would have been a better video, cheers man
Behringer sounds better here because of more bass response, it's quite a bit bassier than the SM57 (not unlike how Behringers XM8500 in relation to the SM58) which would lie between the two somewhere. May be a pro or con depending on the situation. The Pyles are brighter and some people find that preferable too, not so much on guitar but on things like snares or vocals.
I have that Pyle. The sound is acceptable and with EQ you can really improve it a lot, but the problem I have with it is that I need to turn up the volume very high when recording because the signal it gives me is low. When I turn up the volume so much it generates noise. Does the Behringer have that same problem?
I will agree with you, I liked it when I got it till I got the behringer, it totally outclasses the Pyle, the behringer is more compatible to the SM57, cheers
@@DerekPaulGuitar well i finally got the Behringer and you are totally righ.. it´s a lot better, and louder wich is perfect for recording classical guitar without needing to place it to close, as with the pyle, cause as you know, the proximity effect is horrible. Thanks and excuse my poor English
Did your Pyle have the wiring to make it balanced? They used to NOT have the wiring right, and one would have to move the wires around to get it balanced. But the last one I bought, like 2 years ago, was wired correctly. Makes a HUGE difference in the sound. Its louder than my SM57, and a little brighter. I have a set of these I use for drum mics, or just utility micing.
@@DerekPaulGuitar There are several youtube videos on it. Seems like they were doing it balanced, but maybe not? If you search Pyle PDmic78 Balanced you'll find a few. It's really easy to do. Also suggest getting a little better wiring in there too as if I remember the wires are rather thin....
Hi Derek. Behringer makes some great affordable products and this is yet another example. I use a Behringer C-1 for vocals most of the time. I was gifted two Shure 57's when a company I did some work for cleared out their A/V lockers. Still like the Behringer better. For amps I use the MXL 99, but find it is best for acoustic recording or acoustic-electric recording. I am going to give the SL 75C a try for electric recording. Thanks for the demo and I still really like the look and sound of that strat. Doesn't one of the Pedal Guys have one or one just like it? Cheers from Texas.
Hey Brad, yeah Mick Taylor has one of those strats, the pickups are amazing which is why I used it, I tell you what I’m sticking with the Behringer for recording! It sounds so smooth and the low end is so clear, I’m so impressed with it, I used to have an MXL mic too when I had my studio, great mic! Let me know what you think of the SL75C :))
Is there a transformer in the Behringer? The Pyle does not have one, and it comes with a XLR to TRS, there's a reason for the wiring, something about grounding the shell. I immediately sold the Pyle I bought. The only decent 57 copy is the SHS OM450. Superlux is building this gen of behringer mics and they're generally good quality
Hi Peter, I’m not sure what you mean by transformer but it’s a dynamic mic, and yes the Pyles cable is useless and noisy, the Behringer is a great mic and as you say good quality, thanks!
Open up the mic by unscrewing the barrel, you’ll see a pair of wires from the xlr connector going to a transformer (usually hot glued in place) or the wires go straight to the diaphragm.
I think the Behringer definitely would as it captures a nice low end, the Pyle is more mid focused and may work better with the top of a snare, hope that helps, cheers!
I spent $200 on a set of CAD drum mics, later I got the PDMIC78 for a snare bottom mic. I did test it out against the CAD tom mics and instantly came to the conclusion I should have just bought 4 Pyles and a kick mic. They sound fantastic on toms. I'm still just using plug ins to process the trashy mids out of the CAD drum mics but they (Pyle) do absolutely make very very decent tom mics. I also use one for a kick(in) Not disagreeing with the above comment, just stating they are heaps better than some so-called "drum mics"
I went with the Pyle PDMIC78, this after getting Pyle's PDMIC59. The 1/4 inch TS was too perfect a match when using the Pyle PVAMP60 Reverb guitar amp that I also have. The Behringer is a solid product as well. I don't think any consumer will be disappointed with either.
I might get both, sounds like the 2 might compliment each other blended
They really do actually!
The whole evaluation sounds distorted ? I wish you could have played more clean tracks .
Noted thank you for watching
Besides the Shure, which of the clones also has the internal transformer ?

@@eteres-n6g thanks for the feedback, really appreciate that, cheers!
i have questions: is this behringer sl75 good for acoustic guitar recordings? and have it more high output signal than Shure sm57?
Hi, it’s great for acoustic and also vocals, it has the same output more or less as the sm57 the frequency curve is also very similar, thanks!

I love your voice more than how the mic sounds. You have a lovely accent.

Thanks!! Wife’s idea :)
I’m really impressed by the Behringer mic! What do you think? It’s so smooth and a nice low end to it.
I think its great! Replaced the SM57 i have sitting on my desk... The low end is what i love about it.... Sounds better for my bassy voice...
Frost Tech excellent,! Good to know it’s great on voice too, cheers man!

The Behringer smokes the Pyle overall... There might be some uses for the Pyle, but it ain't no 57.
