Purple is great for late summer/fall season, or anytime in low light. I've started using them more during fire season when the smoke is thicker and tints the daylight a bit too.
Sunday I picked up an extra four trout on the West Branch of that Farmington with a sized 14 Purple Haze or is it a Purple Adams, since I am an old man now I get confused. Just kidding The other fly that worked really well for me was a Missing link in # 18 they Yellow one didn't work as well I would have thought but the one I tied in Woodduck sure did and then some. Oh and I pretty much have resigned myself that every time you post a new video, I am going to be dropping about 75 bucks. I sometimes wonder if it would be cheaper just to take up whiskey drinking as a hobby? Nay Nay- I love the trout to much for that.
Hello! Huge fan, many are. Thank you for being such a valuable resource to the community. Question: Did you intentionally abandon your older methods of creating parachute posts for some reason? In older videos you use methods where you apply super glue to secure the tying thread (no whip finish needed), or you've used UV resin to stabilize the post, and affix the hackle (no tying thread is used on the hackle). Is there a reason you've most recently used this method (shown in this video)? Is it a matter of preference, or did the glues in the older versions weigh the fly down, or did the glue not hold? etc. Would love to learn from your experience so I choose the most effective and efficient parachute-tying style to learn first and practice most.
My favourite fly, the video made me laugh too. Is the method of using UV resin for tying parachutes more of a gimmick? I really liked tying mine that way but noticed your videos never include it.
That subtle "opps" gave me a chuckle lol
Good morning Tim ☕️
Nicely done, thanks👍
Good recovery!
Definitely going to use that post method of twisting the post material. Great job, Tim!
I love that you show you're not perfect.. still beautifully done
Thank you for the video I really like the way you wrapped the hackle up the post and whip finished on top. Why didn’t I think of that??🤔
Another great video, Tim. You always have the best fly tying hacks,

I really appreciate your videos. Thanks for making great content that's well narrated, and gets straight to the point. Other tyers struggle with this.
Nice fly!
Brilliant looking fly nice to see you didn't edit out the mistake and show you're just human like the rest of us lol
It's more about taste than function.....I like that!

Hi
Video should be called, how to overcomplicate the post while wasting poly yarn.
Come on, man
Have a link to you doing it better?
