I hear ya. Out of curiosity, where are you based? I only ask because in Ireland, because the country is so small videographers here take on work anywhere in the country because you can’t be saying no over a 3 hour drive. The problem that poses though is that for smaller one day corporate shoots like I regularly do I can’t justify a recce a lot of the time as you’d spend 7 hours between the roundtrip and visit. I’m just curious what your operating radius is and where’s your limits on justifying a visit etc.?
@@FilmResolved I can see that being a challenge. I’m in Dublin and mainly work with local businesses in my area so it’s never too much hassle. Even if I’ve to go across the city, it would only be a couple of hours round trip. It doesn’t always help though as things can still change suddenly on the day all too often.
Oh interesting! I used to be based in Dublin and that’s where most of my work was but since I moved to the Wild West it’s EVERYWHERE! Slowly but during building a more local client base but it’s slim pickings and local shooters already occupy a lot of that market. Thanks for the feedback thought!
The Lav cable be killing me at times! Pesky little eye sore always wanting to be on camera! I preferred shotgun mics now even though set bulk and time is added. Great, honest content! You forgot 1. Recording an interview in slow motion. 2. Not making sure your cameras are recording scratch audio. 2. Have a soft focus

I’ve definitely encountered some of those overhead lighting issues, which is why I now try and make a quick site visit beforehand mandatory

Soft focus always gets me. Never recorded an iterview in slow-mo... long may it last!"
