In 1979 when this video was filmed, "Old" Parliament House 2:25 consisted of 124 Members of Parliament (MP's) in the Lower House (House of Reps) and 64 Senators 17:58 (10 per state and 2 per territory) in the upper house (Senate); Government on the Right, Opposition on the Left. Today, "New" Parliament House consists of 151 MP's in the Lower House and 76 Senators (12 per state and 2 per territory) in the Upper House; Government on the Right, Opposition on the Left, Independent/s and Other Minor Parties in the middle (AKA: The Crossbench). It's amazing how much we learn about our own democracy regardless of how controversial our politicians really are when it comes to representing their constituencies.

The very end of the video. The Governor General signs the bill, he goes straight to the back to sign, makes no effort to actually read or study the bill in order to know what he has signed. He probably has no idea what the bill is and he probably doesn't care. How sad 😔. But I realise now that it is The Creature of Martin Place that formulates policy.
