One MAJOR problem if you want this to be accurate - the spectra needs switched. Stars coming AT you would show a blue shift (blue light first) the red, the opposite (red shift) the way you have would show stars moving AWAY
You theoretical physicists only make up stuff you know can't be proven false. Last time I was on a star ship the Plutonium Nitrate was so good I forgot to take a picture to prove you wrong.
would light even separate? all light frequencies move (through a vacuum) at the same rate, don't they? all incoming light would just shift more to blue in that case, w/o light separation.
@@ColossalZonko That's actually still an open question.... Certain physical theories, e.g. loop-quantum-gravity, predict a difference in travel time of photons of different energies. Such differences have actually been measured, but they are too insignificant to be conclusive and could still be explained otherwise.
I don't care about scientific accuracy, I just LOVE THIS! It's so beautiful and peaceful! I could sit and stare at this, very happily, 'till I fall asleep, every night! LOL! 😄 That settles it! I want a cabin at the fore of the ship, with this exact view! See you all OUT THERE! Goodnight! 😯😌😔😴 ✨🌎✨✌
Captain's Log, Stardate 43927.6 The Enterprise has arrived in the peaceful solar system in Orelious Nine where an old battle took place between the Menthars and the Promelians. While are engines remained in warp drive we had found two relics. The Menthar and Promelllian warships, sitting side by side, still intact. The only question I wanted to ask is why are these ships left unintended, the answer shouldn't be vaguer than that.
I listed a link to this video in a tutorial video I am making in the description. Hope you don't mind; I needed 5 seconds of time travel and my flux capacitor wasn't water resistant. One storm in 1983 and I had to relive parachute pants all over again.
This is great! I've been playing it in the background while I work. I would adore a more dense version (more like the thumbnail), so that it looks like you're really booking it at high warp.
it does not lag, it is because this thing is moving faster than the light besides. If you are in a train and it moves right next to a slowly walking dude, the dude would look like hes standing still from the view of the train
I like the “slower” warp effects better than most, especially since if the lights are stars, they would not be whizzing by, warp is a multiple of C so even something like warp 9 would not be that fast on an astronomical scale, I don’t really mind the idea of closer objects going faster, but the way it’s depicted in the movies and shows is quite honestly pretty ridiculous. Anyways great animation, wouldn’t mind as a screensaver!
My background in Physics is limited, but wouldn't this be represented by a blue shift, rather than the red shift? That being asked, this is stunningly beautiful and I enjoy it for esthetical reasons. Thank you for posting this.
I was surprised to find that the spectrum of the "stars" that are seen, have the blue at the end furthest away, but the red nearest to our point of view. Can your switch it around, so that we nerds can relax???
I've always assumed that the streaks aren't stars rather they're particles being shifted asside by the navigation deflectors. I have no idea what their red/blue shift should be though! :D
Mativiv /// Doppler effect; ambulance alarm sound, is affected by the velocity of car, and as the ambulance is coming to observer, sound appears higher than ambulance separating from observer. Light behaviour is similar. If white focus light is coming to you with big speed, wavelenght shift to violet and inversely.
Perhaps it is demonstrating the extreme speed that would be occurring by the inverted color spectrum. The vessel is actually lapping or overtaking whatever it is that makes those streaks. Blowing the doors off! Warp 1 versus Warp 20
At Warp Speed the ship isn't actually moving past the stars that fast. If you were able to pass by stars that quickly, you'd make it to Alpha Centuri in one second. In theory, when at warp speed and in a subspace field, the light traveling from stars will streak by in the direction your heading.
How are you looping CC Ball action effect in AE? I am moving my camera away and after 1000 camera distance balls are gone. No idea how to make that animations last for a few minutes. Thanks ;)
the audio was from star trek online; i made the animation in adobe after effects with several layers: far distant stars barely moving, not so far stars moving a little more towards us, and the warp color streaks. it takes forever to process so i had to loop it ever 20 sec or so. Edited together in adobe premiere pro.
i used the trapcode particular plug-in for after effects. i forget the settings, but you can have the particle generate a spectrum trail of varying time delay. you can probably find tutorials on it.
I thought the same until I rethought. The red shift is the shortest wavelength and if you are approaching light, the light should look compressed and would have the same effect as the doppler principal with sound. a sound would have a higher pitch at the front and lower pitch as it passes like the sound of a racecar. Would it not have the same effect on light? If so the light in front would have the shorter wavelength as you approach it ( red) and would essentially look like the above video.
Correct. Take your racecar analogy- but use a motorcycle (easier). If you are standing still, and it approaches you- high to low. But- if you come up behind it, as you are both moving- you will hear low to high, then low again as you pass it.
warp is not subspace. the ships do not jump into another kind of space at warp speeds it’s real spacetime not hyperspace or subspace as you called it in your title stop equivocating warp speeds with Star wars hyperspace it’s not the same!

This but without the background of a stationary star field would be perfect.
it's not stationary
@@tertiary7 yeah I noticed that after I commented

if you don't want it so choppy do like i do go to settings on screen and increase speed from normal upto 2 and it wont be choppy

@@ThePresident001 I guess so, but it might change depending on how the navigational deflector is adjusting their relative velocity.

This is the view inside a Star Trek warp bubble, not an Alcubierre bubble, not even Doppler or something else. So what's your point?
Can you make a 10 hour version of this?

Whoops! ...The Red shift should be AWAY from us, and the Blue shift comes towards you as you travel close to the speed of light.

sure. although it's not really the hyperspace look. cool channel!

The light should blueshift coming toward you not redshift.
Seems, maybe, one would be passing from behind, not coming towards. Like "The Freeze" in Atlanta At the Braves Games.
I thought the same until I rethought.

Unfortunately too short.
This is incorrect. If you traveled at the speed of light or faster, you would arrive to your destination instantaneously from your point of departure.
