Hi Matt . Always tough decisions to make as an owner and changing a jockey is going to be one of the toughest to do . Fingers crossed that it works with James and you can get back in the winners enclosure with Max . All the best wherever he runs next

Thanks Jeff. Very important to show it all. Some have tried to stop me telling how it is but I will continue to be truthful about my experience. Thank you 🤩
Good luck, I’m another oldie, used to follow Hywel and was one of the few that backed Last Suspect at 50-1 in the National, I also follow James, under used in my opinion.
Good to see him recovering and progressing. Surprised your aiming at Saturday race, thought you might lower his sights to give him a confidence win in a lower weekday race.
Just about remember Last Suspect with James's dad up. At the time of the National in 85 I was 11. Good luck wherever you go with Max next. Hope you don't need the luck btw Matt and Max just does his thing!
This was an uplifting positive video after some challenging ones recently. Its great to see you with a smile on your face and full of optimism. I am looking forward to the next race and i think a decent size e/w wager is on the cards for me. A falling mark and an uplift in form/fitness as well as the change in jockey and more suitable distance/conditions could well be the recipe for success. Wishing you all the best for the race. I can't wait.
What a wonderful message, thank you. Many ups and downs but I am feeling much better as the work at the back of the hill is great for jumpers and he seems to be enjoying it. Great feedback from James and he makes sure Max is getting plenty out of the work.
Love the videos and love the mailer too. Now being in my third syndicate, this is great insight into what a full ownership is like - that the dream for me, one day
Max looks on good terms with himself even got himself a six pack such is the transformation over the past few weeks,James seems happy with him,it’s also nice to get a different prospective into how he feels on the gallops, just a matter of transferring that ability back on the racetrack - form of LTO run been franked by citizen & dancing in Brazil runs this afternoon at Huntingdon 👍🏻
Can we introduce the english barns to the concept of a water hose for washing off? Great bit of work. Good luck in the upcoming race, whichever one it may be.
@ for sure. Personally plenty of evidence to say cold water is much better for muscle recovery. No different to humans. I have a cold shower every morning
I remember Last Suspect. It won at a big price. Afterwards , I looked back at the morning paper (what we had in those days)! It described Last Suspect’s chance as “The Last horse you’d suspect of winning the National “!
Max looks better than ever as it looks like taking Lily off for his old pal . He must be bringing the best out of Max . Even though Lily did a great job and that can't be taken away from her .
Good luck with it, he has got to prove himself but he has every opportunity. Some horses don’t really go for female riders, exactly the same as some don’t go for conditionals. This guy is not an easy ride as he appears to find very little off the bridle. Hopefully it all comes good for you and him.
@ yes trip wise is an enigma. The original trainer appears to have had a similar problem. He appears ( could be wrong) to tank into the race but when unleashed finds little. Direct Route of Howard Johnstons did this. Held up to the very last moment as once in front he stopped like he had been shot. I think this guy has similar problems though Direct Route had great speed making it easier to produce late ( grade one winning novice chaser) and needs to be produced after the last.
