Any new player will get Lynette rather early into the game while getting Sucrose may be quite a problem since Sucrose isn't even in the starglitter shop. As such, I believe she's actually pretty good.
I think she might be good in Wanderer triple anemo, having a taunt for 12 seconds is quite useful
Pro tip: you can fish the robot fish and transform them into gears at a crafting table, and while you’re going for that you are accumulating fish for the Fontaine fishing weapon which isn’t too shabby on Lynette as well!
This is perfect for those who cant even get a c1 sucrose let alone a c6. Considering the investment level of the sucrose vs a c0 Lynnette this is great! Hoyo giving players all the tools to make good teams to enjoy the game. Sucrose also feels clunky at first especially without sacraficial or c1 whereas Lynnette is a more natural fit.
I, personally, think she's more built to be a dps instead of a support...but to do that requires C6, a lot like how Dori needs her C6 to be a proper dps as well.

Hot take, but I feel there isn't really a proper 4* unit to compare Lynette with. Off-field DPS with light buffs and elemental application... that description doesn't really fit anyone else in the 4* roster fully. Sucrose is an EM DPS/Driver/Buffer, Sayu is an EM DPS/Healer, Heizou is Onfield DPS/Driver so any comparison with him would require C6 Lynette just so she could try to compete with a guy who has that role at C0, and Faruzan is a Anemo Buffer first and SubDPS second (meaning she'd probably be used *with* Lynette in a lot of Anemo DPS teams).
All that's left as far as non-Standard/Limited Anemos is Anemo MC and... yeah even with Lynette's hangups at least her burst doesn't run past enemies. It's not really like Dori and Kuki where there's ample room for comparisons due to their heavy similarities.

@@ScaryYokai I prefer not to compare Anemo DPS Lynette to Reaction DPS Sucrose (both as drivers and off-field units) since Reactions and Raw Damage are different in preferred situations, one likes AOE while the other excels in single-target (See Heizou Taser builds vs most of his other teams). Now I recognize how strong Sucrose is (certainly more fitting than Lynette in transformative reaction teams), but even I can admit her off-field game is clunky. Her burst can absorb the wrong element or not absorb an element at all in rare cases; Lynette's burst is much more straightforward with elemental absorbing due to the simpler "eye" hitbox (Lynette's Bogglebox Hat). It can also toss enemies upwards which actually makes her burst a bad idea in some teams (Childe/Xiangling Vape is a notable one) which essentially renders any off-field damage null, leaving just her buffs.
And even in a pure numbers standpoint Lynette can hold her own. Sucrose swirl does great in AOE, 4-5k+ with quadratic scaling is great, just like with other Anemo units. Meanwhile, Lynette likes raw damage more (especially pre-C6), and I find her a lot more comfortable in Freeze teams for instance. Cryo Resonance buffs her Crit Rate and damage consistency, any loss from TTDS or C6 Sucrose can be made up for by investing in Lynette's off-field damage like any other off-field unit (pretty great scalings considering she has a multi-hit burst and decent skill damage). If she gets buffed by Noblesse and/or Mona, even better. And this isn't even mentioning how much more fitting Lynette is for Mono-Anemo teams for Wanderer and Xiao, since TTDS isn't as impactful due to the high chance of Bennett being around.
Tbh, the best part about Lynette is that she can let Sucrose leave the teams that dont value her as much (Mono Element and Freeze), allowing her to focus more on reaction teams.

I have a C4 Lynette but only C0 Sucrose... And with the pneumousia mechanism I decided to level up Lynette 😊

Lynette is a free anemo character everyone can get Sucrose is not on the starglitter shop so the only way to get her is from wishing. So as a player with a new account i dont have Sucrose but i have Lynette. Also Lynette is fun.
People need to remember that Lynette is meant to be a starter anemo Charaxter for new players, she isn’t going to be better than an exclusively wish character. Of course their will be times Lynette is better than Sucrose, but Sucrose will usually be better.
I like lynette in my ayaka team. with her ayaka does around the same dmg as kazuha and I can free him for second half in abyss
Anemo mc is just fine as a starter anemo character with the upside that you can change it to dendro later in the game, no point if investing in Lynette, but that's just my opinion.
Lynette requires less on field time and has more burst uptime with little to no focus on elemental mastery, however she does buff the attack of your units based on different elements. Sucrose needs EM, has less uptime, can use thrilling tales, and is more for teams that also need EM because she buffs it for them as well, however she also needs more energy recharge than Lynette. They are different characters that work in different ways for different teams but one is not inherently better than the other. And if wish characters are supposed to be better than starter characters then xingling would not be one of the best sub dps units in the game
As a fan of both characters, I see this as an absolute win.
i will use lynette for Neuvillette instead of sucrose, cause i dont need em for him, so her burst ER build is better with 12 duration, 18 sec cooldown with taunt too

Lynette is easier to use then Sucrose but if u know how to use Sucrose, she's better then Lynette, but different char requires different situation to shine.
Lynette's kit is oriented around being a dps than support really. So a much better comparison would have been heizou vs Lynette imo. Any comp which utilizes elemetal reactions, sucrose would win by default cause she can provide EM buff and even in some non reaction comps she can still add to the damage by transferring TTODS buff.

If by being a 'dps' you mean on fielding, then she's only viable at c6 or atleast c4. But you only need c1 if you want to on field sucrose.
Heizou both a better dps with higher numbers and a better driver with a more useful buff (em) so that would be even more devastating for her

Probably in yoimya team i'm more comfy with Albedo (Geo Set buffer Role)/Yelan/Bennett/Yoimiya. i goy Lyney in the place of Yoimiya and now i'm not that happy, i was thinking HOW SO STRONG AND MAYBE BE FUN MONO PYRO, yeah very fun having no good partners besides Dehya that i doesn't have, and Yoimiya is good with my characters. Why i made this mistake... And Lyney is not that fun, the character itself too.

Lynette has longer burst thats mean more swirld and her taunt is very usefull but lynette only good for non reaction team
Can you please explain why do you need to use sucrose burst to absorb hydro instead of pyro?
It's to vape Xiangling's burst. It has no ICD so you need the extra hydro application to vape every hit of her burst.

Not fair, aggravate based on EM and sucrose is anemo EM support... Lynete was pure swirl also his kit only absob and she only heal herself...
To be honest lynete kit is best to compare with sayu

I played for about 8 months before I I my first Sucrose so....Lynette should be a usable anemo starter character.
