Such a bad take. Baseball was at its peak with roided up Sosa going up against roided up Aguirre for the home run crown. Fans don’t care about roids. They want action and baseball is lacking in that department.
Just remember the best player might not be the best communicator. There was real radio talent talking people through the game, they created pictures with words and fueled emotion with inflection of their voices. Conveying that kind of passion is a talent and a skill.

Props to Alex for doing some work to make amends. Gotta give him the benefit of the doubt, because I would want the same done for me.
I have always liked Chris Wallace, and especially his father...60 min. glory days. But he has to up his game. The questions at the end got really silly, and honestly, right down stupid.
I said the same thing. A little beneath his caliber.
Nah, Wallace has always done this and made it a bit more light and personal in the end of an interview. Many journalists do that. Some like it, some don't.

Tucker is far more credible than the imbeciles at CNN.
These are all excellent ideas for the MLB! One of the reasons the NBA and NFL got more popular was because they DID allow you to be mic'd up at times. It's like they allowed the fans into a more in depth view into their world and/or thought process.
I personally was able to make it as far as semi-pros and overseas for basketball and you start to see the business sides of things even at those levels and how they market themselves. So, you know it's on a much grander scale at the top. I was always a 4-sport athlete which included football, baseball, basketball, and track. In saying that, though I have found baseball to be the hardest (skillfully) of the four, the older I got, I noticed that it was losing some popularity.
Now, I'm a 43 y/o man who still will tune in from time to time to catch a game, but there's nothing like a live baseball game! They have to find a way to bring that spirit to the TV screen for most people. Unlike the other sports, in my opinion, it has also taken a little dive in the excitement category. Like, I remember the 98' home run spectacle from Sosa and McGwire...oh how fun was that! Then we find out they were getting "jacked"but for me...a high school kid...we were GLUED to the TV! The Derby's...the All-Star games...just...it isn't the same. We gotta get that back!
And I like how A-Rod has taken accountability for his actions. It is what it is. Let's move on from the BS! Let's be honest, the man's skills were STILL HOF worthy even without the "juice!" But if they don't want him in...that's on them. He's one in MY eyes. I don't knock anyone if they feel different. Just my take.
Chris Wallace is a Great reporter and Great interviewer as well! Make sure this man gets his flowers too!

You ask them a question and all you get in response is “it’s amazing.” Arod is part of the reason the game was popular with the steroids and being a villain that everyone hated but a very few loved. The problem with Major League baseball is that they didn't tape the wire on altuve's chest tight enough and they didn't play pay Chapman enough money to throw that meatball he hit over the fence in the playoffs ! In addition better scriptwriters for the MLB would be better !
I'd have thought his most embarrassing moment would have either been Varitek mushing his face in or him slapping the ball out of Arroyo's glove. The Steroids or 'ped's' he used didn't have anything to do with either of those...although I guess it must be embarrassing to know the only reason he has the numbers he does was 'drug aided'....Tough to put that 1st tho.
I was going to go with the (allegedly) painting of himself as a Centaur in his own home... but that slapping the ball thing, I had forgotten all about that.

People's attention spans are shorter than they ever have been and for obvious reasons. Next time you're at a game, look how many people are playing on their phones during the game. I challenge Alex on the point that baseball will be around in 200 years, it could end up being like horse racing that is really just trying in terms of people's interest or too slow to hold it. Don't get me wrong- part of me likes the fact that I can put a ball game on the TV while I am messing around in my garage or grilling dinner and don't have to hold on to every waking second of it, but the last time I was at a game a year ago, it seemed like between fowl balls, batter/pitcher theatrics, throws /looks to the runner on first- every batter was there for 5 minutes. Glad to hear it was not my imagination according to this, the games have gotten longer.

We live in Toronto. We had season tickets for three years.
Almost always went for pre game batting practice.
My wife got some autographs and we caught a baseball. It was fun.
Lots of players would come out, but rarely would the marquee players show their faces.
It would have been nice to see some more of them.

They aren’t gunna get those viewers back and I don’t believe anybody did anything wrong. The country just outgrew baseball like they did the wwf. It’ll never hit as low as wrestling is but you get the point. You go around neighborhoods, kids aren’t playing baseball in the parks for fun like you see in the sandlot days and it’s been like that for a long time. Half the people that raked in those high numbers are dead or old. The new generations aren’t into it like that. Not as die hard I should say
