My friend and I picked her up at her house in Hollywood. She had played the night before (we were there). Said her baby was sick and she wasn't coming. Told her 150 ppl were waiting for her. Talked her into coming and she came as is. Not a lick of make up. Have a pic of her bare faced. Nina is beautiful eather way. She was so cool!! Talked about being a White Whitch. She and her pal Lena Lovich. Nun Sex Munk Rock had just been released. Love that record. Last time I saw her was at a small club in Long Beach CA. Maybe early 2000's. Still looked and sounded great. Said her daughter was in the Peace Core. Tnx for this.
@@shepmathe I would be glad if you are right about Nina being a non smoker. but i believe she smoked, i just don't know how often and the contents of the smoke. But you still might be right about her lowered voice and the relation with aging. The other thing i can think about is that her vocal chords were damaged during the years of performing. she had the most strong and flexible voice i ever heard. and she wasn't known for holding herself back!
Nina damaged her vocal cords to reach very high tones when her register was only medium, with that she destroyed her vocal cords, at each high tone, whether singing or making sounds, the cords were damaged, even the nodules on the vocal cords make a voice of smoker, and these nodules cannot always be removed with operations for which the voice remains as it is heard.
