I could sense the nerves! Glad it all went OK. "between 65 and 55 if I can" - immediately went up to 85 :) I bet that was a tense moment, though I saw you give the too fast signal. I did wonder if you remembered the WUFSTALL check and that you had lowered the undercarriage. That could have been embarrassing on your first flight. :)

Thanks for your comment (you are busy today!). You might have noticed that I've learned a bit from the other winch launch you commented on. High speed is ok (and probably preferable) in the early part of the launch as the winch driver will reduce power when the glider is established in the climb (so it was reduced twice in the other video you saw) I think it was a steady 60kt once the power was reduced, so I'm very happy with that. Yes, I was very nervous, but once I was in the air, it was 'love at first flight' with the glider! We do WULF pre-circuit checks (Wind/Water/Undercarriage/Loose articles/Flaps) - Never heard of WUFSTALL - I'll try to work it out!!

@@gerryfletcher4686 Hi thanks for the replies to this and the other comments I posted. I'm busy watching many gliding videos while waiting to fly again. The local clubs are also single only at the moment but I hope this will change soon. While it's good to see people flying perfectly I much prefer to see people learning so that I can learn something myself. I previously got to solo but that was many years ago so very rusty. Glad the flight went well. I would love to get a share in a glider once I'm experienced enough. Safe flying!
