Thank you for the idea where to look at. Had the same issue with my tios truck. I just drilled a hole through the plastic piece where it originally had broke and secured it with a screw and nut. Now he’s able to have the air blowing ice cold in this 110 degree heat.
Just stick a long straw through the front vents you will feel it open. Leave it in for open pull it out it will close when shutting or starting your vehicle. It works fine for my 2005 xlt
I have an 05, I hear clicking when I put the heater on,Blower works only cold air, clicking stops when I turn it to AC,Will your straw idea give me heat and stop the clicking or do I have to actually remove the console and change the actuator
@@johnvance3011 for heat you will need to go into the left side of the glove compartment reach your hand in (tricky)and manually pull the flapper down with your finger with the heat on high. Follow the clicking sound.
I can’t either, I have an 04 and thank goodness everything is still good. However, I’m so glad I came across this video. I was wondering where the actuator was located. It looks like it sits behind the radio. 🤷🏻♂️ But It would be nice to have someone or some of these RUclips automotive guys do a replacement video that is very good and not all backyard.
Reach your hand in while on high fan and pull down flapper easy now jam a chop rag in there to keep it open, heat all winter ,take rag out cold all summer.😅

Did the same to mine been working for 5 years no problem.
Definitely going to try it!!
Hey it works. Probably will last longer than the original part did.
I'm thinking it will too.
So helpful! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video. I have the same problem on my '03. I can only see 2 zip ties. Is the hidden one around the shaft of the lever arm? Thanks.
great job, thanks
Thanks bro !!! 🍻🍻🍻

How do you replace the actual solenoid itself? The little control arm is fine but I can’t seem fo find any video on replacing the actual solenoid :(

the dealer charges $1,250 to replace the $7 part.
My actuator in not moving do I need to change it or could it be a fuse?

I can't get the air to blow through the dash vents. Is this the solution? Is that the dash vent actuator?
