Japanese paper wrapping became "aesthetics of wrapping" in the upper samurai class about 600 years ago. It has a particularly formal quality: the strict wrapping rules for specific occasions like as celebrations and sad occasions.
The Japanese say giving a gift is like wrapping your heart. Just like helping a friend into their coat with hospitality.

There is a point that is relatively easy to miss. It is the aesthetics of origami. In a simple wrapped manuscript, there will be no or only one place to tape the final product at all. This is because origami is an art form that can be achieved entirely with just one sheet of pap🐙This is the aesthetics of origami. In a package with only one sheet of paper and one point glued to it, everything unfolds when that one point is removed. Sometimes we can use a folding method that does not use tape, but in that case, if you release one fold, all the other packages will unfold as well. This is the aesthetics of origami. When creating an original, it is consistent with the aesthetics of origami to finish the work without cutting with scissors or gluing with tape in multiple places as much as possible. Traditional works of art adhere to this🐙

This video doesn’t show authentic origami, but it does show a fun way to wrap a gift that incorporates the style of origami. I’m not showing art, I’m just showing gift wrapping. I’d like people to enjoy gift wrapping in various ways while sharing a little Japanese culture.

What are the measurements of the paper?
This is good for any size of square (top & bottom) box with any height.
Width : make it just enough to wrap around the box, plus a little (about 1/2 inch or 1 cm) to fold inward on the right edge.
Height : Top part = a little over the length of the top part.
Bottom part = a little over the half of the length of the bottom part.

You can use any paper except thicker paper.
I use regular paper and wrapping paper, including from drug stores :-).

Saw another youtuber wrapped a gift in less than 2 minutes. Easy. This video is too drawn out which makes it seems like wrapping a gift is quite complicated.

How do I get the height and weith of the paper?? Could you please write it. Sorry if you had already said it , but I don't speak English.
Hello!
This is good for any size of square (top & bottom) box with any height. Paper size is not necessary to be so accurate,
Height : (a) a little longer the size of the top height + (b) The side's height + (c) about 2/3 of the bottom height.
Width : make it enough to wrap around the box side plus a little (about 1/2 inch or 1 cm) to fold inward on the right edge.
It may be easier to understand, since the diagram is shown earlier in this video.

What is the name of this paper?
It's a regular wrapping paper (it's double sided paper, but it's not necessary). You can buy similar ones at paper stores or drug stores or online (like Amazon), etc. You can use any paper you like. Just it's better to use not so thick paper. Thank you!

And also like the suggestion of @epIx111333, you might want to slow down and watch it with captions. If you watch it on a mobile phone, you'll see "setting" on the screen with a symbol that looks like a "bolt knot" (upper right corner). In it you can change the "playback speed" (maybe to 0.75 to 0.5) and also turn on "captions (or translation)". If you watch it on a computer, there is "CC" (closed Caption) on next to "setting" (lower right on the screen). Thank you for watching!
You can go to settings and slow down or speed up the video to whatever speed you want The little cog upper right hand side look at playback speed and choose whatever you speed helps

It took me an hour and 1 billion tries to fold it following this video. It doesn't help that she keeps rotating the box, and that she sits by the side of it. I finally managed to finish it, but oh God, it was tough! Good that I had a dense pattern on the wrapping paper so it doesn't show how many creases I made... :P
