Hi James. Just found your videos and they are great. We share a name (both first and last!) and a passion for sailing. In my day it was a Hartley TS-16 solo sailing out of Adelaide and throughout the Spencer Gulf and having a ball! That was a whole lot of years ago. Now I'm here in Washington DC and sailing is something I enjoyed in my past when in better health. So I live vicariously here in RUclips through lucky folks as yourself. Summer Wine is lovely. I wish you fair winds and calm seas sir. Good luck! And thank you for posting. 👍👍
Thanks for the support! Simon Carter was actually a big inspiration for me to complete this trip and I took a lot of valuable information from his videos in my planning for this trip. Cheers
Your content is amazing James. Just need to work on your wind noise/audio, I know it's a dog to deal with. Some ebay dead cats and cutting audio frequencies below 40hz can help with the rumbles and tapping. Love the rawness otherwise.
And council have just approved an 18 story twin tower Sheraton across the road from the beach in Torquay (where you were anchored in Hervey Bay). You can see how well that's going to fit in...
@@redcorvetteguy Summer Wine is an Ultimate 23. I haven’t spent too much time sailing off Mooloolaba, mainly spent time in Moreton Bay. Thanks for your support!
Hey, I spent 7 weeks on the water. Took about 5 weeks to work my way up, sitting out strong winds in Bundy (1.5weeks), Yeppoon (3 days) and Mackay (3 days). With perfect conditions could be done in 1 week but that’s without smelling the roses. I would have liked more time and more favourable conditions to visit more islands such as the Percy’s but I didn’t have that luxury. Good luck with your trip!
@@jamesgow8018 oh nice, good to see you using it for its intended purpose. Will you be making the trip again next year? Surely you couldn't have visited all the Northumberland islands in one go.
@@jc9474 I would love to do the trip again, unfortunately due to time constraints and weather this trip I missed out on heading out to the Percy’s and exploring more islands out there.

Thanks James, looking forward to 3.
Love your videos really interesting watching your progress. Have you watched Simon Carters videos? Thanks again

What app are you using is it savvy navy or Navionics ?
I use Navionics and satellite imagery on an iPad mini for navigation.
Hey James how long did the total trip take you? I’m looking to do something similar.

@@jamesgow8018 thanks so much.
Nice work picking up while Simon is on his lap of Aus.
I might have missed where you've mentioned the make of Summer wine, a southern cross 23?
@@jc9474 Oops I will put it into the description. It’s an Ultimate 23.
