Weird how many filler combats this game throws at you - those really take me out of the game. BTW, of games you may be interested, Cobalt Core is at the top of my wishlist, Yomi 2 looks cool and my favourite game in the genre has to be Dicey Dungeons.
Yeah, the filler fights are a usually a good litmus test for if these types of games are going to waste your time or not, and I definitely got the impression this one would waste your time. The game looks like it has some really cool ideas though. One of the reasons Slay the Spire is so good is there is impactful decisions straight from the floor 1 round 1 combat, and it never feels like the deck is playing itself. I loved Dicey Dungeons as well, and own Cobalt Core but haven't got around to it yet. Haven't heard of Yomi 2 but it looks really unique, I'll have to do a little more research into it.
@@TrellsYT Hmm, I had the complete opposite experience with Slay the Spire: I stopped playing specifically because I didn't feel like a single decision is impactful until floor 1 boss - and not too many afterwards either. That said, not really my type of game - too many numbers and multipliers for my taste. I'm not even sure what genre Yomi 2 exactly is since I've never tried it but that's exactly why I want to try it :'D
@@buttonasas Its on my wishlist, if it goes on a good sale ill make a video about it. The only other game I know of that tried to blend fighting game and cards is BattleCON: Online which is free but idk if that community is still active.
