#Upgrade #Grey #StemImplant
For a low budget sci-fi this film was impressive. It just goes to show what you can achieve when a director cares about the quality of his work.
Creativity, is An art.
Didn't know it was low budget, this movie was really good.
Terrifying Than A Horror Movie
@@PolymerataI do agree with that
Yes that is true ❤
3:44 STEM might know how to act logical, but Gray sure knows how to get someone emotional. Top tier teamwork right there, they were unstoppable.
I don’t understand why fisk went for a punch when he had the gun pointed right at his face
@@jamesquindo1838it appears he got emotional from gray's words which affected his way ot thinking
@@jamesquindo1838 also got defeated by his own words “you’re getting emotional never do that”
The guy who played Fisk was one of the highlights of the film.
4:08 Since I first saw this movie I was always impressed by the one little and very over lookable detail. The way his muscles release while he dies. We're barely given any background for Fisk, but clearly he has similar technology in him to Grey. When his shoulders decontract there, we see whatever technology controlling his body let go of him, making him human the moment he dies. Idk man I just really appreciated that one small nod to something quite unexplained throughout the movie.
Or maybe it's because he can't move his muscles anymore because he died lol.
It was a good thought, but later on in the movie, it is declared thathe was a human with computer implants, but he were still human, unlike Grey. One of the quotes from STEM is, "They were upgraded humans, but they were still humans." Fisk didn't have a chip, like STEM, in his neck or anything, he just had computer tech built into him. So what I'm trying to say is, nothing was controlling him, he was in control the whole time. The muscle relaxations you see are standard for when you die.
*Sorry if I came off harsh, I just thought it was pretty easy to tell why that happened.
@@jethompsn I still find it funny how a human with computer implants still managed to beat STEM, a being that is purely an AI, in a fist fight. One would think that an AGI would be more logical, more precise and more accurate yet that wasn't the case here.
Perhaps the human element really plays a role. Maybe it introduces more randomness (And as such, unpredictability) into the equation. I guess that's why STEM was unable to think of what to do and Grey had to step up.
Damn this whole comment thread is full of people smarter than me!!
Fisk and Grey is different. Cuz Fisk isn't paralyzed soo he can move on his own. But Upgrade is more of a machine.
@@atheistyoda8915 just like how the Robocop Remakes did in the Heli.
Just mesmerizing fight scene..and this is how clean action sequences should be
Oi
It’s a little too dark in my opinion
You got emotional, Fisk. Never do that
This movie is fantastic
And a real good twist
It is fantastic
I saw it yesterday before sleep
Deserves a sequel.
Fisk: "See? You're getting all emotional. Never do that!"
Also Fisk: *Gets emotional when Gray taunts him about his brother*
Fisk is such a bad ass I love his character the actor is perfect I hope to see more of him
Yeah, Fisk deserves more screentime than was given.
i always find it so stupid in movies, when a person with a gun always goes closer to the person they're pointing it at, always within grabbing distance ...
Reality is a different matter
Or asking them, under the treat of violence, to join him/her in burning down the world......I would say ok, and then kill them later...
@@repusprimus2872 is it tho
@@jakebrinkman767 apart from bunch of morons. Anyone with a brain wouldn't do it
Because to make a head shot
Think how much more of an efficient killer Fisk would be if he had STEM
Given the twist of the movie, I always wondered if STEM actually was having a hard time at all or if he was just feigning trouble to emphasize a kind of solidarity with Gray still...
There are a lot of questionable moments in the film when it comes to STEM being this mastermind who has engineered it all. Its still a great flick doe.
Fisk was a beast, he technically beat this overpowered ultra-advanced AI and only lost when he was explicitly taunted emotionally.
It was satisfying to watch him die cus he was an asshole but also kinda a bummer because he was at least really committed to his shitty ideals and he was a hell of a fighter.
This movie was just a cool, simple Sci fi flick. A bigger batch of writers is needed for a deeper better sequel. Liked the timed costly effects. It gave the flick a good punch when needed.
This is by far the worst assessment I’ve ever seen. More writers would certainly do more harm than good-especially when you consider the current state of Hollywood.
@@KenLinx yea maybe. Budget was definitely hindered it, from being even better.
@@dansgroi1472 Budget bloat is infamous for dooming many Hollywood movies. As a recent example, Joker 2.
I think the budget constraints helped the producers be more creative. If they had all the money in the world, they could just supplement their creativity with more advertising to bring this movie to a success.
Simple? No, this film just went way over you head. Watch it again, but stoned
In this scene, Hitler acts like a Jackie Chan iron man.
so it had to be some emotional damage to finaly kill Fisk. Funny how STEM was afraid of losing.
I honestly thought the movie of (UPGRADE) that came out in the year2018 was very good, and if I was a MovieCritic I would of given it Three Stars plus half a Star.
So if a 2nd. installment isn’t going to get made for (UPGRADE) the movie; Than I suggest someone in the entertainment industry should consider making a show series of (UPGRADE).
Why wouldn’t Fisk just shoot Grey after he disrespected his family member. He had the advantage and then went for a punch with the other hand? I know it’s for plot purposes but it’s too unbelievable
Because he became all emotional
@@nilayanghosh9902 ironically after he told Grey not to get emotional over his wife's death.
Grey found a subject about which Fisk could not be rational... his brother.
It's honestly just believable enough. He said he "tore his brother open" and listened him wail like a bitch implying he enjoyed his agony. Words like that could definitely make someone like Fisk not want to give Grey the satisfaction of those final words nor a simple instant death like a shot to the head. But something brutal/excruciating and torturous akin to his brothers death. Which details did not know prior to this scene
I like how he gives the speech about how all people who arent enhanced are just a holes and not worth the time but still gets mad at his brothers name being besmirched which leads to his death
is it just me or this guy straight up looks like Tom Hardy, and stem is venom 🤯
yeah it's the same trope essentially
RIP Fisk
Honestly I enjoy the action in this movie way more than most wanky big bugdget blockbusters a.k.a The Avengers!
Fisk should have been the main character. Much more interesting than Grey.
It's like Jason Bourne, but hand-to-hand combat in an android fashion.
Nanomachines son
So nanobots are better than stem lol?

Those who monologue before shooting deserve everything they get... shoot first, talk later.
Amazing.
I appreciate your efforts! 🙏 Just a small off-topic question: 😅 I have a set of words 🤷♂️. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). I don't know what they are. What should I do with them? 🤷♀️
Holding him at gunpoint...mentions killing his brother...decides its better to fight lol how stupid
yeah i feel like they could have at least let that scene build up some more, it was kind of fast

Fisk killed Grey s wife
Fifatality
Decent movie. I’ll never understand the casting of Fisk. Villains don’t all need to look like Batista, but a mousy, adolf lookalike was hardly imposing.
That’s what makes him such a great character, he hardly looks imposing at first glance however, it’s his confident and self assured demeanour knowing that he could quite literally kill you with his breath, which makes him scary. Once you can see his ‘upgraded’ capabilities midway through the film, you quickly realize he’s a bad a55 soldier, and not some guy greeting you at the entrance of Best Buy!😂
In all seriousness, the actor who played him definitely got in shape for the role, and wasn’t some scrawny puke, albeit pretty short?
@@crazyralph6386that was exactly the point. that's the idea of an "upgrade". if he were a badass to begin with, it sort of takes away from the idea, and the contrast.
I liked it
this fight scene was so good
Great movie, hidden gem.
