I worked at Queen Mary University for 35 years, I've always been close to the canal. There was a Hobbies and Interests club at the University, one of the events was a walk from Mile End to Little Venice, I guided the group through the streets of Islington when the canal tunnel was reached. My retirement party was at the Palm Tree pub near the wonderful Victoria Park, the pub was also our Friday "watering hole". As a child I lived near the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal. It's amazing to see all the new buildings adjacent to the canal. This is a truly wonderful video, as I now live in south west Ireland it brought back some great memories. Many thanks!
I hope that all is well on your end. Thank you so much for sharing this walk! I've walked from Paddington Basin to Kings Cross along the canal and was planning to continue from Kings Cross to Limehouse on my next trip. Since we have no idea when that can be, here you are magically posting this wonderful walk. What a beautiful day. Your videos keep me sane during the lock down. I keep one of my screens playing your walks while I "work" on the other screens 😊.
I live in a village , just outside Teesside The north east of England and I have seen London walks loads of times but I have never seen this so I thought I had watched all of the London walks from different RUclipsrs but obviously I haven't so this was a real good treat So thank you for the upload
I have done up to halfway today. The natural habitat created in mile end park and victoria park is amazing. It feels so rural. The pagoda and well decorated bridge are delightful. I have not seen much diversity in people taking exercise, mostly Caucasians are keeping fit. The bright spring sunshine coupled with 4K quality makes it so real. Thanks again.
Such a beautiful day for walk. You always pick the right day. I have done only some and already amazed. Will need several session. Ideal for lockdown pleasure. I shall write again after completion. Many thanks for your dedication to the channel.
Awesome video WW. You picked a lovely day to highlight what a beautiful walk this is. Lived at Johnson Lock myself for about 12 years. Been away 6 months and watching this bring memories back and joy to my heart.
👍Very cool to see a part of London I hadn't seen before. Interesting to see all the long boats and others. Looks like a lot of apartments and condos too. Thanks and stay safe. -Henry
Thank you for giving me the chance to know some new marvellous places in London and remember the places I used to go and loved. Keep doing this marvellous work...
This is, by far, my favourite London walk. I had no idea that there was such a lovely canal walk in London. Thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoyed it & I dare say I will watch it again. I've also shared it on Facebook. 😁👍🌺

This is an awesome route. I did it about 5 years ago and saw parts of London I've never seen before. In fact parts of it didn't feel like London. Great to do with a couple of friends (post lockdown).
Thanks for uploading this. Particularly liked the part from 1:17:00 to 1:33:00 as I have walked this route on several occasions. This has shown me that there are lots of other places on or near the canal that I should like to visit (e.g. the Chinese Pagoda). Except that for now I won't be able to, being that I live outside of London.

I walked with you another hour and 10 minutes to finish this epic walk. It is mesmerising, spell bound. Thanks to London to keep these heritage walk in such good condition. Did you complete all of it in one go? That will be heroic. Also 1.52 to 2.04, the tow path disappeared. You definitely know the way to get back to the canal through angel shopping center. The sun kept smiling all the way. How very nice....
Great footage along the route of this canal last time I walked down this canal between Victoria park to new North road was around 1996 there were no flats built there at the time on left side pass the gas works coming from so much has changed along the way
Great video took me back when i was a boy i use to fish along the Hoxton part of the canal that was in the fifties/sixties and it has changed so much Thanks for the video

Like what they plan to do on the canal. Look at all the people at the ampitheatre.
How deep is it (on average)? Do pedestrian collisions happen where someone falls in? What's the temperature of the water?
London canals are shallow. In the middle about 1.4 metres. If the bottom wasn't so sludgy you could stand up. I walk the canals daily and have never seen anyone fall or get knocked in. Brian, yes, they are house boats - this is often the cheapest way to live in Central London.
