So glad everything is getting better. It won't ever get easy. It just gets, I guess, manageable. I buried my mom two days before my 32nd bday. Over 30 years ago. It's still ever present that she isn't here. I'm sending good wishes to y'all.
Agreed. Lighter countertops would help that area seem more spacious and would complement the white cabinets and trim, while the copper accents would complement the tile nicely.
What an adorable little house! I wish I'd have known you needed help painting, I love to paint and I'm pretty darn good at trim. So glad you have so many amazing friends. Stay strong, you are amazing people.
I’m so sorry all this has happened to you both. I know that pain of a gallbladder attack. It was one and done for me. I wasn’t lucky enough for laparoscopic surgery though. Healing prayers for you Gary. ❤
My advice , treat your niece like a regular tenant , write lease , security deposit ….all the above , family members think to pay whenever and change the rule since they are “ family “, and rest over family gets involved …ww3
God is just reminding you that he always gives you extra strength to be able to handle the tuff problems. My sister gave me this advice when my husband died. I do think she was right. Here’s to a successful safe trip home. When you are having problems home is where you like to be. ❤❤
I am so thankful that Gary was able to get immediate diagnosis, care, and surgery. Now if he will quit overdoing it and let his body heal. I understand completely about the "anniversary" and how very hard it is. You all are so very blessed to have such a close knit family that will give of their time and energy to help out. I just watching your channel to see all the love, respect, laughter, humor, and how you two work together to accomplish your goals. You two lift each other up during the hard times, just aa a REAL relationship is meant to be. You two, along with many other homestead youtubers have restored my faith in humanity, the sanctity of marriage, and the joy of appreciating God's many blessings. The twinkle and love in both of yours' eyes when you look at each other says it all. May God continue to bless and protect you always. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
New viewer, and I was 23 when my gall bladder had to be removed. We'll, my sister and I had back to back surgeries from both of us having gall stones. And yes, your back shoulder area is what hurts. Not that GB surgery is fun. The doctors also removed my appendix at the same time. I was cut from under my boob to also my leg. You will find that certain meats do not digest well. I can not digest ham, just ham and hamburger. My sister and mom, it's chicken. It is a major surgery. Be kind and rest as much as possible, take the pain meds. Good luck on recovery.
I'm so sorry you have had to go through another rough time. Glad to see Gary feeling is better & things are almost done. I love the wall colors. Hope you find a counter that looks nice with the copper. Continued prayers & safe travels when you hit the road!
Oh my Gracious your videos are so uplifting I bumped into them last wk. & enjoyed em, am so, so sorry of the lose of your mom, & the unexpected other 2 issues. May God Bless y'all & will be enjoying the upcoming vlogs have a good day 😊
Im glad things are looking up. My granddaughter and great grandson and i moved to Anchorage in 2023 September, and I promptly came down with pneumonia was literally bed ridden until after Christmas, so i understand how it feels to not be 100%! Ive had to work hard to get my strength back and guess what I came down with a bad cold last week and have been knocked down again. But my family's praying and i am getting better!! Yay!! Prayers for yall and your drive home to be safe! As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
I know it is after the fact, but the gas is what's causing you so much pain. Your doctor should have prescribed something and told you to walk, walk and more walk. It helps move the gas out. Sorry you had to go through this! I know how painful it can be.
Man you guys have been through it this trip. I'm glad Gary is okay! We don't have Facebook or IG anymore so I did not see the updates. May your travels home be carefree, fun and hospital/vet free!
Be careful about eating red meat anything with a lot of grease now or for awhile I still can't eat red meat without it making me sick its a real thing. Hopefully they explained all that to you I ended up back in hospital over it about 3 weeks after surgery I had become very dehydrated. Take care of yourself it can cause issues not having one. many don't have a problem with it a few does and I was one of the few and I still have problems. Sending Prayers for both of you 🙏🏼🕊️🙏🏼
Oh my goodness. I have had those gallbladder issues before and they are no fun. Just FYI you could possibly have some gi issues post op but it will be worth it.
I'm praying for you both and your trip back home. I truly am sorry for your loss. Gary's family is amazing to come help the way they all did. That speaks volumes in today's world. Love is everything. Wood counter tops would be beautiful and match everything. God bless
Praying for you🙏🏻 I had an acute gallbladder attack a few years ago. I could not be still it was miserable. I went to the ER and had surgery less than 12 hours. I know where you’re coming from! I am so sorry.
Glad you are beter again....take care of yourself and fine that you had a lot of help... The countertop i think Black wil be beautiful bij a with kitchen...
My poor daughter was only 26 when she had her gall bladder attack. The surgeon said she had the biggest gallstones he ever saw. That was 8 years ago and she’s doing great. I’m so sorry you went through that Gary. She recommends gas x for the pain. I know how it is to take one step forward and two back. I’ll send prayers and lots of positive energy for both of you 🙏🙏🕊️
God Bless all of you, make sure (as u know) to take care of yourselves. You are doing such a great job, your Mom is looking down saying wow, Thank you. Be safe
Gary did they not tell you gentle walking to get the gases to go - my surgeon told me every time you go to the bathroom take a 5 minute walk up and down the halls of the hospital, if you don't walk you will be in pain for 7-10 days - this was after kidney cancer surgery which they did laparoscopy
God bless you all continue to heal . With family & friends everything looks beautiful. I can hear your mom now I wish I would have let them re-do my house sooner . I think it’s so awesome you all are able to keep the home & let a family member rent it .
That is air pocket from anesthesia. I had that pain in my shoulder afterwards. It helped to get up and move a little to move it. Hope you feel better now.
Looking great Gary!! Glad you’re doing well!!🙏🏾🙏🏾 you all came across my timeline when mom got sick.. you all are sooo sweet and have the sweetest spirit.. instantly fell in love with you guys! Stay strong and take one day at a time🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I had gallbladder attacks when i was pregnant for my son 43 yrs ago and oh I know the sickness and pain. When he turned 1 i had a horrible gallbladder attack and had it out the old fashion way very painful
The house is looking gorgeous guys. Your family are amazing. I am glad Gary is coming good.. It has been a horrific time for you losing your Mama and i am so sorry for your loss. Time will make it easier but she will always be in your memory, and will always be watching over you keeping you safe. Time to start a new chapter, Love for your mum and she for you will never fade . She wants you to be happy and flourishing and to still enjoy life. Stay strong and brave. love you guys, have only just come across your channel so sad I did when all the bad things were happening with your mum. Take care you two and stay safe on the road.xx
Hope you'll get to feeling better soon Gary!!! Please take care of yourself and let yourself heal to 100% before you get back to work. Y'all take care and stay safe going back home to Alaska!!! Much love from Texas 🙂♥️🙏🤠
Glad you are doing ok. Be very careful what you eat for the next few weeks. I had an attack 2 weeks after surgery when I ate some fried shrimp. I called the Dr. and they where like oh we forgot to tell you nothing fried or greasy for at least a month.
Hello my dears, you are a couple that I admire, may God bless your journey, may he bless you after all the events and may your recovery be quick. God bless you and protect you, kisses and hugs from Portugal. 🙏🙏🫶🇵🇹
Put hot water in a spray bottle and add some downy fabric softner.. Spay with water for a few minutes and it will come off easier. That glue backing is hard to get off.
I got my gall bladder out over 10 years ago. MAJOR pain leading up. 3 kids at home, 1 in the Air Force. THAT one decides to visit pre-employment as a surprise. Well, WE surprised HER with the news of my upcoming surgery (over the Christmas holiday)! She definitely held the family together, with her siblings and dad! What a ride!
A pretty swirled light color that has all those colors in it... Like quartz but not that expensive... Glad that your on the mend and another bump is getting smoother... Hugs to you both and ear rubs to the fur babies
So sorry Gary. Gall bladder attacks are awful. Hope you are feeling better. Praying things go smoothly now. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️
Man oh man, I had 1 gallbladder attack and urgent surg 3 days later. HAPPY you decided to do it.. there's a reason for this happening when it did. I felt like a truck hit me for about 1 week, bloated too , patience is needed. Be kind to your body.. let your body heal. Chill my friend!!
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I had to have my gallbladder out in a 3rd world country during covid 2020 lockdowns. I couldn't leave. I am on my own at 67 so I had to hire an interpreter to speak to hospital staff. Then 10 days later I was told the guesthouse I lived in was shutting down. I had one week to move, all the time giving myself only 2 weeks to recover off from work. Sometimes we don't know why but you have a lovely family to help you through the hard times. Just breathe it's life.
As a woman who was brushed off over "simple side pains" and after 8 months having emergency surgery, i can say Gallbladder surgery recovery sucks! hoping you heal quickly!
I am sending more needed hugs for the month Anniversary of your Mom's passing. It's been several years since my Momma has passed, and I still remember that day. I think of her daily. I know you will too, just when you think of her, go with it, your heart will lead you to what you feel. I still have momments of tears, smiles, and heartache. I just try to live on as she'd want me too. Hope you do too. Live Happy, and Free. I had a similar situation when I had to have my gallbladder removed. I am now in the very small percent of people that received a hideous problem of IBS afterwards having that surgery. Now I watch what I eat and know my limits of certain foods. Soo, Gary, I got similar scars!! Welcome to the GB team! (Just kiddin) hope you continue to heal and feel better. Walking helps get rid of the gas in you from the anesthesia. I love the colors you picked out for the house, and have enjoyed watching you all. Take care!!
Definitely a lighter countertop... With such a small room you need to lighten it up as much as you can. That little house is exactly what I'm looking for but I need one more bedroom and possibly a basement... As I'm moving to Spokane to be closer to my grandbabies ❤❤❤. I just love the craftsman houses! I'm so sorry you guys are going through so much, I lost my mom totally unexpectedly too and I think the shock is the worst of it- and then the clean out of course. I've also had the dreaded gallbladder issues but having mine removed was the best thing I ever did and apparently I'm one of the lucky ones because I've never even noticed mine gone so I hope yours is as easy as mine was. 35 years later and I haven't had a single issue. I hope things settle down soon!
So glad everything is getting better. It won't ever get easy. It just gets, I guess, manageable. I buried my mom two days before my 32nd bday. Over 30 years ago. It's still ever present that she isn't here. I'm sending good wishes to y'all.
I would say white counter tops with copper flecks or streaks running through it.
❤
Agreed. Lighter countertops would help that area seem more spacious and would complement the white cabinets and trim, while the copper accents would complement the tile nicely.
Don’t forget you can paint counter tops and cover with contact paper just as beautiful we have done both !
Prayers up to you both! Y'all have been through so much in a short time. Gary, been there and you're right....Not fun! Heal up soon!
Gas -x helped with my pain after my gallbladder surgery. Praying for a quick recovery. Can't wait until y'all get back home.
What an adorable little house! I wish I'd have known you needed help painting, I love to paint and I'm pretty darn good at trim. So glad you have so many amazing friends. Stay strong, you are amazing people.
Even laparoscopic surgery is major surgery. Take care
Sending positive thoughts and healing
Been there done that. I felt so much better afterwards.
Hope you get better soon.Hi from Colorado Springs 😀looks
I’m so sorry all this has happened to you both. I know that pain of a gallbladder attack. It was one and done for me. I wasn’t lucky enough for laparoscopic surgery though. Healing prayers for you Gary. ❤
Gas X is what helped me for the pain. It was doctor recommended.
Wishing you guys good thoughts....❤
According to health professionals, gall bladder removal -- even laparoscopic -- is considered major surgery. Be gentle with yourselves!
👍🙏🙏
Been there done that in my late 30s
My prayers go out to you both n possitive vibes
Butcher Block color like would be nice...I think 😊
My advice , treat your niece like a regular tenant , write lease , security deposit ….all the above , family members think to pay whenever and change the rule since they are “ family “, and rest over family gets involved …ww3

Aweeee thank you! We definitely found our soulmate in each other and lean upon each other every day!
Marble countertop!
Edit: It doesn't have to be the real deal but the marbled coloring will set off the whole kitchen!
Remember drink lots off water during the day, I had that my son had that was very painful. Speedy recovery.
Hope you feel better soon, Gary. You’ve had quite a time in Washington. You’ll be happy to get back to Alaska (just in time for winter). 😉
White quartz counters with maybe copper specs

Glad you are feeling better Gary. Try to take it easy for a while. Counter tops would look in pine or black in my opinion.
Get better soon
Please don’t over do it
Did the carnivore diet have anything to do with the attack? Just wondering if the fat amount set something off. Feel better soon!
I thought the same hing. My daughter ate a lot of meat and had a gall bladder attack at 26 years old. She cut back and feels mch better.
No. His first attack came when we ate normally. We were told it would happen again and it was just a matter of time.
The house looks so cute and fresh. Hope you’ve picked something light for the counters. Safe trip back home and of course prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤
Something pale for the counter top. Good luck, and what a wonderful help your husbands family have been. Take care. From NZ

I had my gallbladder out in my 30's. The gas was bad, but the stuck gall stones were worse. Hope you feel better soon.
Glad your doing better. I had mine out at the same time as I had a 12mm kidney stone. Worst pains I've almost ever had. Hang in there .😊
A White marbly effect surface would look great or a natural light wood.. Glad to see your on the mend Gary and all the best from The midlands uk..
Wishing you well on your recovery Gary , I think white counter tops x

The house is looking gorgeous guys. Your family are amazing.

🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💙❤️
You two have been through alot.Prayers for you two .Spirits looking good.
Prayers for continued mending. Counter tops should be a white with a small vein of black.
Even after gallbladder removal it’s very important to avoid fatty foods because you can still develop bile issues
I’d say the white (not solid white) Formica countertops from Lowes
I got my gall bladder out over 10 years ago. MAJOR pain leading up. 3 kids at home, 1 in the Air Force. THAT one decides to visit pre-employment as a surprise. Well, WE surprised HER with the news of my upcoming surgery (over the Christmas holiday)! She definitely held the family together, with her siblings and dad! What a ride!
A pretty swirled light color that has all those colors in it... Like quartz but not that expensive... Glad that your on the mend and another bump is getting smoother... Hugs to you both and ear rubs to the fur babies
Enjoy the remainder of your time with family and friends!! Safe Journey home!!
Looks very nice, takes awhile to heal. SORRY about your mom. Have a safe trip back home.
Praying for you and your family Gary. I love watching your videos you have and amazing family and friends. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I had an attack when I was younger. The gripping pain is terrible. And still felt it months after, I’m feeling for you sir. 🙏🏻
You have been through a rough patch! Prayers for Gary’ healing, and you managing your grief. Hugs
I'm glad you're feeling better Gary
The house is looking super cute, great job.
Only good luck from now on 😊
Bless y’all! When it rains it pours sometimes! Hang in there guys and hopefully things get better soon 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️. Wow ! The house is beautiful too !
