In this game, two jovial brightly-colored soldiers infiltrate enemy forces. Everyone here runs around menacingly, and bullets are a bit slower than a housecat.
This run saves 8 frames over the previous one (tasvideos.org/...) by despawning mines.

Unfortunately the NES version "Rush'n Attack" does NOT have the hidden tunnels in Stage 2, Stage 4, Stage 5 like the Famicom "Green Beret" version for Japanese domestic market. Otherwise they're almost the same great Konami classic!!! It's amazing how Konami managed to squeeze such great music out of the 8-bit chip for this and other games (Contra, Castlevania series, Ninja Gaiden series, Gradius series, etc). The title for NES version is a play on words, it could mean either "Rush And Attack" or "Russian Attack", a non-native English speaker like myself truly got a kick out of it when I eventually figured that out. 🤣 Truly the golden age of Konami.
