Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. To have two healthy children is so special. You are looking so good but don't forget to look after yourself.I love your choice of fabrics and I'm excited to see them made up.
Thank you ☺️ yes I feel really blessed to have my two wonderful children 💖. Trying to give myself a bit of time where I can, I’ve had a horrible virus the last week! X
Great to see you back full of enthusiasm and congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I haven’t sewn any of these but I’m now inspired to try the Love Notions patterns. Looking forward to seeing how you get on.
I really like the Georgie dress. I’ve made it twice and lined it once as per the pattern instructions, but I prefer to use clear elastic on the neckband and turn under, as lining it makes it quite thick. I think I also found the sleeves quite wide but that’s easily fixed. It’s really comfy and I love the pleated detail on the waist 😊 I love the Donny too, it’s a really nice modern take on a traditional collared shirt. It does come up short which makes it hard to tuck in. You probably could make it with jersey, although it might be hard to get the points of the collar to turn out as crisply as it does in a woven.
Thank you for the tips about the georgie dress 👗. I will keep that in mind when I make it. We are hoping to go away for a little uk break soon so this dress will be great to take with me 💖🧵. Looking forward to trying out the Donny shirt, thanks for your thoughts on making it in jersey too, I will keep that in mind ☺️ xx
Congratulations Becki on the birth of Alice, perfect little family! The Wow top is very like the Solar top and it’s suitable for a t shirt too. I have made a Patina in cotton poplin, the collar is really straightforward but do a cotton one before a viscose!
Congrats on the birth of your daughter. Made the Patina, Nice pattern, very short in the arms. Have made the Donny, love this one too, way too short, and I have a short torso. I have made the metra, I made the more open one, didn't like it, think it was a bit too small and a bit too open and I probably should have tried the shawl collar one. I made the kaia coatigan Instead, which is a knit blazer and love this one and have made three, so not sure when I will revisit Metra. Whitney of Tom Kat stitchery has made the Metra and loves it.
Thank you for your thoughts 💖☺️ on the metra and patina patterns, I will keep that in mind. I think I will try the shawl collar version of the blazer, hopefully that will be the most casual for me. I will keep you posted on my projects 💖🧵 thanks for watching x
I have quite a few of the Love Notions patterns, and I have to say I am a fan. I have accumulated a pretty good selection by taking advantage of their 5 dollar Friday feature. I haven't found the piecing together of the PDF that bad since there is no cutting involved. Looking forward to seeing how it goes for you.
