This is why I love Cosmo Sheldrake. The fact that this song about something like a cuckoo is beautiful and could be listened to for hours without end and still be wondrous and calming. Thank you. I hope to hear you again.
My cat of 11 1/2 years died last night. She was an outdoor cat, but slept inside. Her name was princess, and her brother was Luke. (After Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker) Luke died a long time ago and since then she’s been mostly alone besides my family. We live in the woods, and bird song is the sound of home. I found this song as soon as it came out, but only after her passing does it mean something new. Now when I hear this, I imagine this is what she hears in heaven as well. The comforting chorus of home, with her brother, in the sun. I hope she remembers our moments laying in the grass together, warm and happy. Listening to the birds. She really did have to go in august. To my beautiful, sweet sweet girl. I love you forever and always. I can’t wait to see you again.

A dreamy, spare little minuet, which recalls the traditional cuckoo song by recounting the bird's activities by month, and repeating the familiar two-note "cuckoo", but is very much its own thing and wholly contemporary. Unforgettable.
Stop. Imagine this. You're strolling through the forest, the untamed grass brushing your ankles. Birds sing around you, and leaves fall onto your shoulders and around you as squirrels leap from branch to branch. You stop for a moment and sit on a stump, feeling your legs throb a bit from the soreness. You look around. Ahead of you, there's a deer stalking through the thicket, the sunlight seeping onto it's pelt. You smile as it looks at you, and eventually it builds up the courage to take quite few steps forward. You open your mouth and sing. The birds overhead stop for a moment, and the world goes silent as you sing to the deer. Then, they open their beaks and sing along.
my gosh this song has become an absolute comfort piece for me i play it every time I fee remotely bad and it just soothes everything over and gives me a moment of solace
Every time I get a panic attack, I listen to this song. And time and time again, without failure, it comes as a comfort. Theres something with how soft he sings, how you can hear him inhaling, or that you can hear him softly pronounce the T at the end the “I must” part. It feels like you’re sitting with him, that you’re in the forest and the nature around you, and the fresh air just tells you that everything’s going to be okay, and for once, you believe it.
