Cant imagine what people (myself included) will create in the next year and beyond. My God Media Molecule...my God....
I think you mean creators are in for it once betheseda realizes people are copying their creations. Theres already an option to report for copyright in dreams.
I've spent hundreds of hours in the early access, and believe me, pretty much everyone starts out crap. The learning curve is steep, absolutely, but once the creative ball gets rolling, the game gets really, really addicting! I started specializing in FPS games a while back, and I'm now pretty confident it's possible to push mechanics into and maybe even beyond classic Halo territory! It's of course also nice that everything can be shared. I have used tons of assets made by the community, but in return have made and published templates so players can make their own first person shooters with different enemy types. Everyone can play to their strengths and lean on the community for their weaknesses in Dreams, which is just fantastic, and will increase the longevity of this game for sure.
Lol, you think someone will make a game as memorable as Halo with this? Maybe its better to see this as a tool for an amazing diverse mini game collection. But maybe I am wrong, what would you recommend as the best game yet?
Vinnisl a dude... just buy it and play around in the dreamverse. There are literally thousands of playable games and some, believe it or not, are damn near indistinguishable from professionally made games. Asking to point one out is like saying “what’s the best video on RUclips?” It all depends on taste and interest which there is definitely something for everyone. And it just came out! Plus it’s 40 freaking dollars brand new. Super worth a try.
I’m not really interested in the creation aspect, as I do not have time; however, going through other people’s creations seems like the most enjoyable.
This is actually smart for sony in their part. Their building a game creator simulator for the PS platform. When you buy the new PS5 there almost no PS5 games so why not head to dreams.

As someone who has been making and playing games in Dreams since the start of Early Access, I have to highly recommend getting the Move Controllers if you plan to make games in Dreams. The Move Controllers are indispensible for moving objects in 3D space and sculpting. If you just want to play others' games, the Dualshock 4 is fine, but if you want to create in Dreams you should invest in the Move Controllers.
This "game" is truely groundbreaking in its scope and functionality. I doubt we will fully understand the immense impact this will have on game development and content creation for some time. Its possible that dreams is what kick starts the VR revolution, turning into a virtual world where we form communities and share our creations.
barky Ruelland It wont have impact. The game will not sell well (lack of marketing) and most users will never produce anything worthwhile. Its also at the end of the PS4 lifecycle. That being said, if this doesnt bankrupt the developers Dreams2 (or a rerelase) on PS5 could be what people are hoping for dreams.
@@bingobongo1615 The developer is owned by Sony and they are quite happy with them, since they push the creative site of the industry. And since rumours say that PS5 will be able to play older generation games, it will be on PS5 anyway - besides Sony said, that they will support it for 10 years at least. Sony is also planning to release some games on different consoles and this game would be the perfect opportunity do to it. Also it's just 40 bucks, so I don't think that the development was that expensive anyway. Not that they have the engine, they might create stories on their own and sell it that way.
I completely agree with your last statement you made I remember feeling the same way about Little Big Planet and its sequels when they were released this game already has tons of awesome content and we're only weeks into its full public release... Now imagine how amazing it'll be in a month? Three months? A year? The player community will grow and there will be more content which may inspire people to make ever more content so on and so forth. And I have to mention that ever since checking your botw video(would have bought it even if you said it was crap, no offense im just a longtime LoZ fan) i try to watch your vids before making a game purchase. Your doing all of us gamers a great service and i say keep up the good work bud!
I've had Dreams since the early access release. In general I find the ds4 best for playing games and the move controllers best for creating 3d object and 3d space creation. I can't wait for the VR patch!
Dreams is mostly about finding your own niche, if you're not artistic, you might be technically minded and can make good logic for others to use, you might be good at putting together challenging maps with assets others have created, you might be good at finding collections of assets that all look good together for others to use, or you might just be a player, but able to give good feedback to the creators to help make the levels you experience better for the next time. Personally I'm still very much a player instead of a creator, but I've already got a few ideas, whether I can do anything with those only time will tell.
This game is the beginning of a revolution in the way humans create and share experiences. If it's allowed to success this could turn an industry inside out. I'm not sure we all recognize how significant this is yet.
There was one little mini game I found that was really addictive. I must have played it for like an hour or two. It was a guy where you play as a cow that can only turn left and your on a race track surrounded by electric fences and you have to make laps around the track and the cow gets faster each lap and you unlock power ups to help you, stuff like a jet engine you strap to the cows back to help when you turn left too much, you can boost to right. And other stuff like a ball and chain to slow down the cow to make it easier to control. Actually a lot of the power ups were different ways of slowing down to make it easier. I wasn't able to unlock all the power-ups because they unlock based on how many laps you complete in a single round. You need to complete something like 36 laps to unlock everything and it already starts getting hard by like 10 laps. I think the most I could complete was like 14 laps. I forget what the game was called but if you come across it, I definitely recommend it. Really fun little mini game.

For anyone who still doesn't know what Dreams is.. it's basicially an engine in which you can create anything you can possibly imagine with very small limitation.. most of the time it's your own imagniation. So you can create your own games, films, art, music & anything in between and beyond or you can play the stuff that others made and there are some indie worthy titles already after 1 year.. a few people aim for making triple A games! Not a single one should miss out on this masterpiece, especially when you are creative =) I do make videos about Dreams if you would like to learn more about it!
I just bought the game partly based on this video. I've seen people talking about it since release and it sounds like a very amazing thing. I'm not creative in the slightest but being able to play other people's creations sounds fantastic, and it sounds like it's a very powerful set of tools for people to use
I am absolutely amazed and intrigued by Dreams (I haven’t played it yet unfortunately) as I was with Little Big Planet on the PS3. Definitely on my must buy list.
The story mode of this game is one of the most mature, emotional and inspiring pieces of entertainment ever. It's so good in writing and overall spectacle about our insecurities.
I'm so happy that dreams it's getting some coverage and that people are loving it, I've been playing dreama since the beta and it just keeps getting better and better, im so proud with what Media molecule was able to achieve ans they deserve every praise in the world
"Dreams" i like the in-game music studio. It takes me back in the days when i had my PS2 Slim & i would spend countless hours creating my Hip Hop beats......that was the time you had to buy PS2 memory cards to store your work. "Dreams" brought me to some good professional sounding sounds. I will let you know if you're not familiar on how to arrange melodies via music sheet & copy & paste, it may be a little difficult but practice makes perfect. There maybe RUclips videos showing step by step how to use the entire music studio. But if you're an expert in producing......this game is what you want. The only downside of "Dreams" is i wish it had more East Coast Boom Bap Drums along with the 808 Trap Drums. Or what be more ill if you can load your own samples to the already fixed Drums. Also give you an option to chop your Keys samples for more creativity. By all means its still dope. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I've played since Beta. It did indeed take me a few weeks to "get good" with the sculpting and painting tools. Throughout early access I have only improved. What catches my eye is that other Dreamers specialize like I did. I focused on art, and curation (making collections). Others focus on music, or logic tools (game mechanics), or tutorial videos, animation, or design (using other peoples' art to make a game level). Now that there are so many specialized Dreamers, tons of collaborations are popping up everywhere. These specialized dreamers are coming together to make great things. Together, anything is possible.
The problem with Roblox is that it’s too professional for kids to create and code games so adults make games for kids. However in Dreams, their goal is for all ages to use their imagination using simple and professional tools. It’s a massive win for Dreams, and honestly I am sold after watching this video.
Ive had it since early access and its awesome. Even if u cant create things outta thin air u can use other peoples creations and their name is credited in ur game. U even have a whole system to create whatever music u want. There r things to get used to with the controls. But dream surfing is the best, Things just keep getting better and better.
Because this is a sponsored hype video? Someone only playing one day talking about long term views of the game and obviously overpraised the available minigames (play the temple jnr and the 3rd person DS like game and you will see that no sane person would like to have them full game lengths). Dreams is a great concept though but I doubt this will be huge at the end of the PS4 lifecycle but Dreams 2 on PS5 with much improved toolsets will probably be a legendary game creation machine
Right. Like as soon as he said he'd played it for only a day, i could tell it was going to be a dumb video, but I still waited to watch the whole thing before submitting this comment.

Like their other game, Little big planet, they made the entire story of little big planet with the tools they give you to create your own levels which Is something I love about Media Molecule
So like you I have zero talent I thought I would jump right in create a character or art but I gave up and began to play other creations I rushed threw the tutorial and I'm going to redo some of the tutorial I'm still not confident in the motion controls so I'm sticking with the analog sticks to do everything lol I thought I'd have my lovecraftian oc built by now just to realise I need to be patient and learn
I am seriously considering buying a ps4, just for this game! I loved all of the little big Planet games especially the 3d tools of karting, even just those tools allowed you to create incredible mini games and small worlds to explore and I imagine media molecule took a lot of their experience with that to make this game. MM is my favorite game developer and I really hope this game doesn't just get overlooked and die.
Reminds me of something that came out on Xbox ages ago. I think it was called Project Spark or something. Project Spark was really interesting at the time, and this looks more like a little evolution on that.
The nice thing about Dreams is that they still acknowledge the Players and Curators, i.e. the ones who Dream Surf a lot and share Dreams they like. The game explicitly accepts those aspects as valid archetypes, to track your overall tendencies in your interactions with Dreams. MM knows that the curators, e.g. the various video producers or streamers who show off all the nice stuff made in Dreams, are just as critical a part of the community as the creators. No point churning out mind-blowing stuff in the Dreamiverse if there's nobody (apart from the devs themselves) to appreciate the Dreams and show off the exemplary creations.

I just started playing it last night and I love it. I've played all three LittleBigPlanets and to me this is the logical end point of the original mantra of Play, Create, Share that LBP first pioneered. I've enjoyed my time with the game so far and am looking forward to more. I always loved the community in LBP and the amazing things they could make and with Dreams it's so endless that I think we'll see a lot of people get into game design because they're given the tools to do so.
Have you played Tearaway? It's also a very unique experience from Media Molecule.
Cris Michel this hame like Mario maker?
Jason dp Yes and no. If someone decides to create a level like in Mario Maker, then yes. But it‘s up to the players to create the functions and designs to make stuff like that. I think this game is impressive af. Presenting a game engine as a game is very clever
I wanna make 2d platformers and beat em ups but I have no idea how to use any of the tools man

You are Mac atleast for a day and evrything will be okay I am from India love you brother

This is made by the same creators of little big planet 1 and 2, Media Molecule
Having ideas but not knowing how to make them in game 😔
I urge everyone to buy this game and support media molecule. It’s so incredible.

"I'm gonna finally finish FFXV and knock it off my backlog."
*Dreams releases*
God damn it!
I'm gonna be honest this is the most interesting "game" I've seen on the ps4.
