Thank you so much! For all of you that want to learn more about still-life photography, I can really recommend Botvidsson's channel here on RUclips. So much great knowledge in this difficult area, check it out!
A bit of topic, but what is the reason, the A1s AF Assist light Auto Mode does not work on my Canon EOS R? I read that it has something to do that the AF Assist is infrared and all the Mirrorless cameras have infrared filters in front of the sensor. I do not understand, because the A1s AF light is laser based and if I turn it from Auto to always On, my Canon EOS R finds the focus in complete darkness. So it can see the AF Assist light.
Would you use the soft bounce flash for a group of large group of people if not what is the best to use for large group where tripod is not allowed thank you!!!
@david Where did you learn the lighting math? You mentioned the 45 degree angle still presents 75% of the light. Is there a book or something that explain the math in that detail?
I own three of these are they’re amazing speedlights. The main problem with them however is that the magnets aren’t strong enough to properly secure the dome diffuser and filter holders without constantly getting knocked off at the slightest touch. A simple screw thread design would be far better and would avoid the need for using gaff tape which is a hassle, especially so when having to remove gaff tape on location in order to change accessories and add or remove the gel filters.
Profoto makes a fine product to be sure, but I can't fathom how anybody in their right mind would put a $2000 light on a flimsy $30 stand. Blows my mind.
The Profoto A1 cost around $1000 and the Manfrotto Nanopole stand costs around $80. The Nanopole is an awesome lightweight solution when shooting on location :-)
In the intro video, there are clearly B1 lights on crappy stands. Multiple times. That's what I am referring to. But to each their own. It's their money.
The information is absolutely wonderful. Your video & audio quality were horrible. Hire video & audio people to shoot your presentation. You are light shaping company, but the way you two were lit and filmed was absolutely disgraceful!!!
Great video guys! Picked up a few great tips to use with my A1s... loved the umbrella party trick ;) Thanks
Thank you Anders and David, so helpful information.
Now I have to get an A1... ASAP! Thanks for a great episode!

Also I currently often use the B1 on locations for portraits but it does get heavy. Have you tried this umbrella set up outside?
Yes, it works fine but if it's windy you need something heavy on the light stand or have some one to hold the stand.
Excellent tips and tricks!!

Still waiting in the sony a1
It would be very useful to have sample images, to reinforce the explainions for the small accessories you had sitting on the table.
Gordon Johnston I’m working on a solution to add them. If nothing else, I’ll put them on my blog and add the link here 👍🏻
You can find the images here light.hannolax.se/
Sorry, but it is unclear to me what the difference is shooting with the dome compared to the bigger softbox that you put also ontop of the flash?
