Praise God.
I am in need of prayer today. My body hurts a lot and depression and anxiety is trying to take hold. I need someone to intercede. Thank you for anyone who reads this and prays for me. Blessings be returned to you in abundance. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
God once told me several years ago that when I started feeling down, depressed, & oppressed to take a 5-min-thank-you-pill - just like I would take an advil if I started to get a headache. For 5 mins, I praise God & thank Him for any & everything. Sometimes it's a sacrifice of praise & gratitude because I don't feel it in my heart. But I start with small things. Even if it's just thanking God for my toe nails... could you imagine how horrible it would be without toe nails & how that would feel when wearing socks? I found it has a snowball effect... I start finding more things to be thankful for. Before I know it, I'm developing a thankful heart instead of a depressed, oppressed spirit on my back. I step out of the darkness into the light.
God inhabits our praises... He's a consuming fire. You start with a spark of fire of praise & thanks, God will inhabit that small spark you give Him, then His presence will turn it into a HUGE consuming fire. God ALWAYS shows up... because He never leaves us. And you know what? The devil & his demons canNOT stand in the presence of God... The spirits of depression, oppressing will flee.
- Trade the devil's lies for the truth of God's Word. Get your eyes & mind meditating on God's Word & not your circumstances. The devil says we're defeated; God says we are more than conquerors in Christ. Open the Bible & start reading. The Word of God is food for your soul.
- Use your imagination for good instead of a tool of the devil when he puts bad thoughts in your mind. Imagine your head lying on Jesus' lap & Him soothing your head gently like a mother does her child.... Do ANYthing you can to flip it & go the opposite direction the devil is trying to take you.
You got this sister in Christ! Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. I'm holding your hand in the spirit world... so is Jesus! Hold on sister; you'll get through this & accomplish God's destiny for your life by the blood of Jesus & the Word of God coming out of your mouth.
@@jlcmama7444 Thank you for your prayers and kind words. I just started bawling my eyes out yesterday, feeling helpless like a little child and I asked Jesus to come and be with me. I confessed I was alone and I needed him now. I don't know why it seems so hard to do that when the feelings of depression and anxiety settle in. I should know this by now, that it's just the enemy and I need to go straight to God. Something else always comes out in this sorrow though, things that are hidden. God shows me an area that I haven't forgiven completely and I move in that to let go just a little more go to that which I cleave to. Like a rose that will die, but surely in its beauty it doesn't want to. Petal by petal we give ourselves to God until we are left unclothed, that is when he can clothe us with righteousness. I see my depression and anxiety clearly is a result of my brokenness, my inability to forgive fully. Since I am still in progress and will be until the day I die, I need to remember to ask God to sanctify me and He can only do that when I let go and ask Him to step in.
