- Not really sure why the mod was named the badlands, should really have been named the goodlands.
All jokes aside this mod was made by FIIIIIISH and it's very epic! I recommend playing it before watching. You can find it on RainDB.
I found this quite a bit easier than the root and I suspect it's due to enemy spawns. I do like how the spawns were pretty chill though, it really let you run around and explore. Also, those two reds being placed was a good idea. Quite a spicy addition to what would have been regular parkour rooms. This certainly isn't to say all the other rooms weren't marvelous and fun to navigate though! The detail is astounding and I wanted to put all the rooms that were visited in the video, even if it was only briefly.
There is a reason not many of these region mods get released, it's because the level editor is an eldritch creation and very few have the patience to tame it, and much less continue to work with it for so long. Props to FIIIIIISH!

If would be even prettier if there were some clouds instead of yelloe sky. It's really nice tho.

Probably just rain I'd imagine. I actually never stuck around to see it rain at any point in the region.

Yes, you can befriend scavengers and tame lizards, but that's just about it.

I had a dream about a new region that looks like its always at dawn and had geysers that push you upwards, it doesn't have geysers but the colours are almost exactly the same as the colours in my dream what a coincidence!
EDIT: Except in my dream it connected sky islands and farm arrays
Edit: I personally think it is hanging over The depths (considering it's from farm arrays)
And as a theory I think maybe the drill units were used to dig the depths if I were to guess the mod creators intention

I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking it might have been the original site of the void sea before they began transporting it or at least closer to it considering the temples and statues that you also see in depths. Or perhaps the Void Sea just sunk into the cracks, making the badlands how it is today.

What if someone modded an arctic area into the game.
It'd be pretty cool, you would have to carry lanterns from sub\ citadel for warmth, or you would freeze to death.
The scavengers there would value lanterns as much as pearls.
There could be two new enemies, the aurora vine and the ice lizard.
The ice lizard would act as a green lizard, but being near it rapidly freezes you.
The aurora plant would be a plant that resides on the surface, and acts a little differently than the monster kelp. Instead of lunging at you, it will manipulate gravity to suck you in, then will flail about to knock the spear out of your hands, then suck you down.
For a more detailed idea:
There will be an invisible stat on entering the tundra, for the monk, it's 130, for the survivor, 150, and for the hunter, 170. Every second, the number decreases by 2. Holding a lamp in your hand or stomach will increase this number by 2 every second, not going above the base number.
When you have 70 points left, slugcat will enter a state like starvation, where they will pass out intermittently. At 50, slugcat will fall over and stop moving, and at 0, will die.
If a tundra scavenger finds slugcat unconcious, they will drag him to a scavenger campfire. The tundra scavengers are much less hostile than normal scavengers as well.
Huh there's someone making a cold region but the cold is much less of a mechanic

How do you feel about IGN review on rain world (I think it’s unfair because they are bad at the game and literally used the worst footage of the game from the outskirts and drainage system)
I feel like they could have tried better to understand what it's going for. A big problem is Rain World reflects real life in the way it plays (things sometimes being difficult, impossible even, and not being the protagonist) and this isn't a normal thing with most games. It's not really invalid, just different. IGN kinda walked into it expecting the wrong things.
