Great review! Craig and Ryno are my favorite duo but Panda is a great addition to them. We ate here over a year ago for the first time. We weren’t impressed with the skillets. We have a smoker at home, so maybe I’m too judgy but we won’t be going back for dinner
Panda I agree with you. One thing is to be cute and make your table laugh and have a nice time but the other thing is being offensive. What your server said to you that he assumed you were getting the piggy plate is disrespectful and offensive.
Whispering Canyon Cafe - FAIL We loved the Wilderness Lodge and may return for a stay, however, the food at the Whispering Canyon Cafe was a huge fail. We ordered the Carnivore that was $26.00 per person and included House-made Cornbread with Honey Butter, Maple-Chipotle Barbecued Slow-smoked Pork Ribs, Oak-smoked Beef Brisket, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Country Potatoes, Buttered Corn, Charred Carrots. The Cornbread with Honey Butter was good but we could not taste any honey in the butter. The Maple-Chipotle Barbecued Slow-smoked Pork Ribs was like eating burnt charcoaled jerky. The Oak-smoked Beef Brisket and the Barbecued Pulled Pork was very dry and lacked taste. The Citrus-Herb Chicken was the only thing that we really enjoyed. The Country Potatoes were not what I would consider Country Potatoes and they were very dry. The Buttered Corn was ok and the Charred Carrots were undercooked and not very tasty. I must say the Barbecue Sauce that comes on the side was delicious. We have enjoyed many restaurants on Disney World property and I would say this one is one of the very worst. We so wanted a good experience and thought we would have one, sadly we did not. Our family would recommend Boma, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Tusker House as alternatives.
I can't wait to go....We come to Disney in 17 days and have reservations on the 19th. I can't wait to show my husband the hotel as well. Thank you for your reviews. I enjoy each one of them, and each on of you! Reminds me a little of the 50s Prime Time restaurant in how the servers play around with you.
My memory of this place is that they used to have a dessert in the early 2000s called the Chuck Wagon, but my sisters called it the "Chunk Wagon" and that become the insult of the house. Nice review, guys!
My family and I love to eat at whispering canyon. I ate dinner here twice back in July. Once for my birthday. It was a little embarrassing with the antics during my bday but it was fun. The skillets are good.I could just eat the corn bread. It’s amazing.
Very good review! Like Craig, we have been going to Whispering Canyon since our first Wilderness Lodge stay in 2000. In recent years, we have skipped it in favor of trying new restaurants. Maybe we will revisit it next trip. Thx, again! Enjoyed it. 😊
I really enjoyed the three of you being together for a review. The one and only time that I ate at Whispering Canyon was in 2010, during the holiday season. I remember having so much fun, and eating delicious meatloaf. From this review, it seems that the quality of food has gone down. Panda, I would have also taken offense to that no filter comment. That cast member should offer an apology. You add another great personality to this trio! Lastly, it is way too loud in that restaurant. I’m into more quiet dining.
Really liked this review and seeing the different skillets. I like hearing the different descriptions good and bad and knowing Craig likes it enough to keep coming back. I miss the all you can eat bbq at Disneyland but they made Star Wars land and that main ride is fantastic.
It’s been over a year since I’ve had dinner at whispering canyon (have had breakfast more recently), but the last time I had a dinner skillet it was great. All the meats were nicely prepared and the veggies were wonderful. Especially the green beans - perfectly seasoned and crisp (I hate overcooked green beans). We love the sass of WCC so go every now and then even though we typically stay signature for dinner. I think its a solid family dining location. Never had a dessert there though - no room!
My first time at Whispering Canyon was in 1995 and have always been very fond of it. The past couple of times there have not been as good but I have never had a bad meal there.
Oh hell no - that pig comment would’ve landed that skillet in the servers face. Unacceptable - they are supposed to have fun, but not be tacky. Wow. Sorry you had to experience that Panda ❤️
Thanx for doing this, guys. Whispering Canyon was a "must do" for me, every trip, when I came annually. Had to come soak up the beautiful ambiance of WL, and then have some good food - but it, sadly, sounds like the quality suffered a bit here. I will say that I enjoyed the "sass" - I HATED the guests who HAD to play it up as much/more than the CM's, and became annoyingly loud and ignorant, just trying to take center stage, and show off - REALLY annoyed me. I'm sorry that "piggy skillet" remark was made to you, Panda - honestly don't think the CM meant anything by it, but it certainly WAS off-putting. I'm a "fluffy girl", and Id be pretty hurt by an offhand remark like that, for sure! Hugs!! And Craig - I love mustard too - everybody thinks I'm weird, but I do!! If they still have breakfast skillets, I always enjoyed them too.
Ryno, we knew when you said you were passing it over to someone who was more charismatic it wasn't Craig no need to clarify ;) (you guys are still my favorites). As a vegan, I appreciate they have offers at Disney, but I wish they would make their own items instead of getting pre-frozen stuff anyone can get at a grocery store and heat up themself. Those frozen meat replacements will only be so good.
The server I had in 2009 looked like the guy walking behind you....can't be possible lol. I'm an introvert so I agree with Ryno. It's a bit over the top for me so not a huge fan of the "show" Super fun review tho! Love you three out together 🥰
Good review guys. Ryno I agree with you. Its too loud! lol. And Panda that waiter needs a class in courtesy. Such an insult! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday hiatus and look forward to seeing you next year!
That server was over the line. There are at least 3 front of house CMs at Whispering Canyon that have been there at least 20 years “Hickory”, “MT (Wallet)”, and one of the front desk ladies. Wilderness Lodge has their own smokehouse, but I’m not sure they are currently using it. Unfortunately, Wilderness Lodge now only has loud, raucous table service restaurants after losing Artist Point to the horrible Snow White character meal.
Good review guys! I liked your very thoughtful comments! Panda, I like the sound of your voice and your N.J. accent! I think that it’s too loud! I agree with Ryno, I wouldn’t like the sass!🇨🇦
Panda, I’m a big guy. And if that waiter had said that to me, I’d have complained to his manager. I’d have been raging. That kind of insult belongs more at a “dicks last resort” type place. You’re expecting that kind of joke. But not at Disney ffs. That could literally ruin someone’s holiday.
When my husband and I ate here we were unimpressed. Lackluster food, all requests for food or drink refills and even ketchup was blatantly ignored. We were excited for the sassy attitudes but instead felt this restaurant was an excuse for lazy service and a poor attitude.
Dis Unplugged. Was the air- conditioning on? All 3 of you looked as if you had a bit of a sheen on or you had all been sprayed with furniture polish. There seems to be a lot of reviews on the skillets served here. And like yourselves no one seems impressed with them. They all say if they came back they'd try the Entree items on the menu next time. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I was wondering the same thing! I’m guessing they must have had 4 skillets for 7 people, which would be $266. Plus desserts and drinks, so not as crazy as I first thought.
Looks like some wait staff use their 'lets mock the guests' to full effect, a little bit of a chance to vent their social anger. Should name and shame the waiter Panda.
Where is the vegetarian lady? Her perspective would have been helpful. Love Whispering Canyon. Mashed potatoes are divine. It isn't an experience that everyone will appreciate. It is still one of the best values on property.
Interesting take. I wonder if the server would have come out and said "this skillet is for big fat panda" it would have resulted in the same outrage or commentary on the video. Was it low brow? Yes..but given the "fat" is part of the brand is it really so shocking? I would also probably anticipate something similar at 50s Prime Time. I appreciate you owning it Panda...I am a big man myself and my relationship with food has been a struggle my entire life. My parents always said "waste not want not." I feel you but instead of getting offended I try to let it motivate me...with mixed results....i have both gained and lost 100 lbs...and the gain sometimes starts at disney. Dole whips and homecomin....haha....that being said I hope it impacted his tip.. that punk.
@@garystocker9450 I suspect he knew who he was and his name, and he thought such a joke was acceptable given he calls himself Big Fat Panda. I can see Panda was not happy, but perhaps in context the cast member was having a joke based on his own nom de plume rather than being nasty. I’m bald, as I have alopecia and people say things about me being bald regularly. I laugh it off and make a joke myself as I’m bald I can’t get away from it. Nowadays everyone is offended.
No way I’m eating at a place where they deliberately insult people. Whether it was me or someone else being spoken to abusively, it would ruin the entire experience for me.
Love the Ryno Craig Panda combo :)
Love the DIS keep up the good work ! Cryno + a bonus Panda, sounds like a video worth watching! Thanks
LOVE Ryno!!!

Just love Ryno and Craig quality pair👍👍🎄

NOBODY is more charismatic than Ryno. Nobody. 😁
Thanks all, Happy New Year!

Great job on this one
13:03 - right there with you, Ryno! 😅

Does the corn bread come with the meal (is it free? Lol). I don't see it on the menu. Great review!
We really enjoy you 3 together

Wishing I was there ❤
Thanks for the great show? Where is Jackie? Is she still with the Dis?

I really like this restaurant but I always feel their dinner menu needs a few more entree choices. Never made it to dessert, but they look yummy!
Where is my Pete!!? I love when he is doing food reviews too!!
Happy new years
I ate the brunch there the week before Christmas and the bbq all had the same taste and lack of flavor. I was sad because I like this place.
If we weren’t doing the review I’d absolutely mention it just so it didn’t happen to anyone else.

we have breakfast adr on9/5/24
Can you share a skillet with someone?
The price is per person so if you both eat it you would pay twice. It’s all you care to enjoy.
How did it come to $362.55 that does'nt make sense
The 4 skillets were $152 on their own, let alone with all the desserts and drinks on top.
And Ryno did mention that there were 7 people in the group
I was wondering the same thing! I’m guessing they must have had 4 skillets for 7 people, which would be $266. Plus desserts and drinks, so not as crazy as I first thought.

I’d feel out of place at this restaurant
thats allot of money for four skillets.....
Yea that comment was rude & uncalled for
Argh! Anti-Fat Bias! No bueno! Love you Panda!
Where is the vegetarian lady? Her perspective would have been helpful.
Love Whispering Canyon. Mashed potatoes are divine. It isn't an experience that everyone will appreciate. It is still one of the best values on property.
Not sure how someone who calls himself Big Fat Panda can be offended when someone jokes about him being a big eater😂

My favorite restaurant at Disney. Best service at Disney If you don’t have a sense of humor probably shouldn’t go
Plant Based ≠ Healthy. Soy and GMOs are incredibly unhealthy for us.
Harsh review. I miss when Disney Dining did Top 5 picks of restaurants(especially w/Pete)
