    If it was as the other commentator said 'legit going for the ball', then why did Snow chuck the bat back to him if he wasn't angry?

    Deliberate attempt by John Snow to intimidate Gavaskar - I think no action was taken though it was believed that Snow was dropped for the next Old Trafford test on disciplinary grounds which I do not believe. Appaling behavior

    • @Spiritkill1
      @Spiritkill1 Год назад +5

      Billy Griffith and Alec Besser reprimanded Snow and he apologized to Gavaskar after the teams came on field....and I believe he was dropped...!!If you don't believe that's your problem.

      Yes, Snow WAS reprimanded, and YES, he was dropped for the next Test because of this incident. He was out of order and was punished, so I'm not sure what your problem is.

      Snow was more than reprimanded and unfortunately for England Bedser made the decision not to select Snow for the 74/75 Tour of Australia. He was sorely missed in that series

    Well this example is also a summary of Snow's career which can be otherwise expressed as mediocre, whereas Gavaskar who was unfazed by the incident reached the pinnacle. This speaks to the virtue of calm but deadly focus versus mindless and premeditated aggression which only ended up getting in the way of what might have been a slightly less forgettable career for Snow.

    English and even the Aussies are so institutionally racist.
    The two cricket teams bullying is a reflection of that.
    It was mostly Miandad versus these racists when I was growing up.
    Whether it Dennis Lille kicking Javed Miandad in Australia.
    Or Mike Gatting hurling insults against Javed Miandad in the 1987 Reliance World Cup Match.
    On another occasion, Javed Miandad was Captain of the 1992 Pakistan touring side, and Aqib Javed's Cardigan was thrown on the ground by an English Umpire.
    Also, I remember the Shakoor Rana Incident in Pakistan, where Gatting used abusive language against the umpire. The English Cricket Board instead of supporting Shakoor asked BCCP Chairperson Ejaz for an apology.
    Many such incidents prove that some English People still mistreat people of colour and blacks.
    Very sad to see this brute and ungentlemanlike behaviour of Mr Snow.
