I asked a few previous buyers for their take and didn't get any feedback. It's marketed as an inexpensive equivalent. In my opinion, it's not. Also, the photos in the Sky Hero China advertisement are of nice and clean looking propellers. The one I received, as you can see, was nothing like those pictured. I reached out and have been ignored so far. My plan is to balance and refinish the prop and keep it as a then suitable backup unless Zhou James / Sky Hero China decided to make it right. My motive for this video is to answer the questions that I, myself could not get answers to.
I got one a while back. The finish had a "drip" on one tip that made it heavy. I sanded off the dollop of finish there and it balanced good then. Overall, the finish on mine was acceptable....But a huge dribble of hardened epoxy right at the tip??? Hmmm. Overall, if you're able to deal with this type stuff, it's probably worth the $218. But for the average "I can't use a zip tie" kind of fella, it may be the wrong choice.
Great points brother. $228 for this one. But yeah, I'm gonna rework it and get it right though I can't do much about the two halves fitting together rather sloppily. Once torqued, it's okay. Fortunately for me, I'm about to take my mid-terms at the local community college for Zip Ties & Duct Tape 101. ~8^)
I ran mine today.........worked great! Good mid range thrust........would definitely recommend!! Just balance yourself and you will be fine. Got mine within 2 weeks.
Did yours arrive looking just like the ones in the advertisement or with a brushed on finish? Did the two halves fit nicely together or were they sloppy loose? Glad you got yours in two weeks. Mine didn't and arrived in a little over 3 weeks. I would not recommend.
@@NCPPGpilot Paint job wasn't the greatest, but didn't expect it to be. The two halves fit snugly .......all in all...............very happy with my purchase!
I hear ya brother. Well, what I received wasn't anything like the ones pictured in their advertisements on Facebook. I believe I know you well enough to know if you'd gotten what I did, well, let's just say that the colorful metaphors used would be amazing. ~8^)
I recently acquired my product (130cm for moster 185) and am quite pleased with it. The thrust is robust, and everything fits snugly. It is notably lightweight and, overall, appears to be of decent quality. Perhaps over the years, they have made improvements in terms of quality. Regarding your review, I have a different perspective on the balance test you conducted. In my opinion, it doesn't seem accurate, neither when performed on a flat surface nor when attempted on the edge of a table. Both tests seem to encounter significant friction. Your review doesn't seem to identify the issues you mentioned initially. I'm not implying that you're mistaken; it's possible that you received a subpar propeller back then. Mine was slightly out of balance as well, but in general very decent quality.
I'm happy for you. YAY! 'It's possible' that I received a subpar prop? You may've missed the part showing that the clear finish was brushed on, with heavy brush strokes, as well as how severely out of balance it was conducting a simple bench test. The operative word being 'simple', yet sufficient. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Kurt. Some folks have gotten props more closely resembling the ones pictured in their advertisement. As you can see, that wasn't the case for me. My fingers are X'd in the hopes you get what you paid for. 🤞🤞
@@NCPPGpilot I'll help make them famous if there is an issue. Ive already had problems with a helmet, but decided to give them another shot because they are working to resolve the issue.
@@NCPPGpilot I think I got lucky. The fit is snug. Blade#1 is 430 grams blade#2 422 grams. Balances nicely on a lawnmower blade balancer(thanks for that idea). The finish is good, not brushed, one small bubble.
You're welcome brother. I'm guessing that John got something very different than I did. He says he's okay with his and I'm certain that he wouldn't be if he received this one. I expected it to be off, balance wise. But I also expected it to at least resemble the props in their pictures. Not the case, at least for me anywho.
I suppose the balancer is evenly spaced left to right (from my perspective) on the table, but I could not see the same spacing (close to my POV) compared to far end? I suppose the balancer has a bull's eye concentric ring and bubble? My point is, I wonder if the table is providing an uneven ground effect against the prop? In stasis, I know it's not a problem (thus the M10 nut). But, while revolving, might the prop give specious indications as it 'shades' over more or less table surface unevenly? Just a thought.
That and the camera view makes things look a little odd as well. Had I not been lazy, I might've set up a tripod at a better vantage point. Instead I wrapped a Gorilla Pod around the edge of the table. But daggon brother, you and those big words! You sound like a pilot or something. ~8^)
Thanks brother. You've seen it first hand, but not quite as closely. I gotta get you to look at the kindergarten finish that's on this thing. My lil one can paint better.
You're welcome brother. I just wanted to share my findings. Again, someone else's mileage may vary. But I didn't receive one anything like the pretty ones in the advertisements. Far from it.
Not the best way to balance a prop. Take a string, hang it from a doorway. Use a "positive red 12V battery protector"...put it through the boss of the prop. Hang it from the doorway. Then balance!
Thanks for your reply. You may've noticed that I wasn't balancing, but merely demonstrating how far out of balance the rip-off prop was. A bicycle wheel balancer is one of the most effective and user friendly methods for prop balancing.
I'm happy to help if I can. On a side note, Zhou James (Facebook SkyHero) is telling me that he will send a new propeller. But first I will have to pay $52 to ship this one back and wait. Unacceptable in my opinion.
@@NCPPGpilot yeah not acceptable. They should comp. shipping. Especially since you'll be waiting a month for the replacement from the sound of it. At least you have a cheap back up solution in case of an emergency!!
Agreed indeed. Man, this is NOT the kind of stuff I want to post. I much prefer the happy, fluffy flying stuff. Everybody has their limits though and the last month or so has stretched mine thin. Immediate solution = no more shopping! ~8^)

NCPPGpilot what are you using to hold the prop for balancing? Both on table and when you placed it on the end of table
@@kd5uwg It's a lawn mower blade balancer & a pin on the end of the bench. Crude, but works.
