I hear you about prioritizing non covers and will break that down for you. I've focused on Dimash for 2 years, long enough that I'm "99%" certain about the following details, but it's possible I have gotten something slightly off: *#1 Songs he both composed the music for, and wrote the lyrics for* . So far, just one, _Omir_ ("Life"). (Note, _not_ Omir Oter.) This is a masterpiece. I recommend you react to the one he recorded with his brother this year. (And after that, either watch on your own, or react to, the mood video version he released on his birthday last year.) *#2 Other songs he's composed* . (Wikipedia claims 7 of his "singles" were composed solely by him, including _Omir_ but no one has yet added _When I've Got You_ so this number is an underestimate. It also credits him as co-composer of 2 of his "singles". Again, that might be an underestimate. And I imagine he's written songs not classified as "singles", though I didn't think of anything missing when I just checked.) His dad wrote the lyrics of _My Beauty_ , his first composition by him when he was 15 years old. One of his backing singers, Jordan, is credited with writing the lyrics of one of his own composition "singles" but I think that's a mistake and that she's written lyrics for two of them -- _Be With Me_ and _Give Me Your Love_ . Imo some of his compositions are timeless masterpieces, and all are high quality, where by the latter I mean songs like the one you just reacted to; imo it's not what I'd call a masterpiece but is what I'd call high quality. Then there's his *originals* for which he is _not_ credited as a composer: *#3 Songs written by world famous friends **_specifically for Dimash_* . Igor Krutoy, one of his mentors, has written a handful for him, with lyrics written by various people. The lyrics for _Your Love_ were written by Lara Fabian, one of his idols and mentors. All these songs are stunningly good, even more so than with Dimash's own compositions (which is saying something, as you will discover), perhaps because he just focuses on creating art, and not the aspects that make him different, whereas they know the aspects that put him in a class of his own and focus on that to create compositional masterpieces. *#4 Songs written by others who maybe weren't his friends prior to creating songs that are nonetheless his originals* This includes a good number of sound track songs created for movies, TV shows, and computer games where Dimash was chosen as the singer. (He won at least one award for best song in all three of those media categories.) This category also includes those he commissioned to write him songs. For many years (5?) his live concert opening song has been a pop/rock banger with English lyrics _Golden_ that was composed by a group of song writers that may not have been his friends prior to their commission. I'll add _Together_ here too even though it doesn't technically belong here in the sense that the composer wasn't a friend. That's because the composer was his younger brother, who composed it when he was 15 years old. Dimash then turned into a family affair song and MV. And finally there's his *covers* -- where he's not credited as composing them but almost certainly played a major part in arranging them for his voice and performance: *#5 Covers of songs written by the same friends I've listed above* Igor Krutoy has composed or co-created hundreds of great songs (which is part of the reason he's a billionaire). Dimash has selected a half dozen or so of his absolute best from those hundreds, and has then arranged them with Igor to suit his vocal and performance preferences. Dimash also covered _Adagio_ -- most memorably for the 6th round of the 2017 The Singer competition. (You watched his SOS from the first round.) He had come last in the 5th round and was anticipating being dropped from the competition, which would have been a terrible blow, if he didn't pick an absolute banger of a song to cover (it couldn't be an original) _and_ knock it out of the park. He fell in love with Lara Fabian (as a composer and singer at least) when he was 12, and he just knew he had to cover Adagio. He'd either win or go out in a blaze of glory. The result was beyond stunning, equal parts utterly exhilarating and utterly exhausting. *#6 Other covers* Apart from when friends are involved, I don't know which covers he sings where he's spoken to the creators/licensors _before_ performing a cover of a song, but I _do_ know some songs where we know he did _not_ contact them first -- because they banned him performing the song after they became aware he had done so! There are three of these I know of. First is the Ukrainian song _I Love Only You_ which he sang so perfectly and exquisitely that he won a singing competition singing it -- but was then banned from covering by its author Oleksandr Ponomariov. Next came _Opera 2_ by Vitas, which was his 2nd round entry after SOS in the 2017 competition, in which he upped the stakes Vitas had created in a fun way -- but which led to a conflict between the show's organizers and Vitas which led to him being banned from covering it again. And then _Hello_ by Lionel Ritchie, which was his guest entry in the 2018 The Singer competition, in which he owned the song like no one else could -- and then got banned.

Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... This is the first time we saw Dimash do something like this. The composition was written by him.(The guitar solo was epic!) The styles were new for us too. His english has gotten even better. In the 1st video you watched, Dimash knew songs in English, but did not speak it besides a simple greeting. He is mostly fluent in English now. He has many videos that are mini movies. His best and most important video is "The Story Of One Sky". (2022) Dimash worked on it for 3 years. He wrote the music and the script. The lyrics are by the Russian poet, Lilia Vinogradova. It's about war and the subject matter is heavy, so be warned. Dimash knows a lot about war, Kazakhstan has only been a free country since 1991. This is written under the video: Dimash Qudaibergen’s 12-minute work is dedicated to the unity of people on our planet. We are all divided into races, nations and religions, but we are all children of one planet and live under one sky. Life is the highest value. No sacred book calls for the destruction of people. As you have both come from a different genre, it’s so good to see your sincere reactions to Dimash’s songs/MV’s. He is definitely a once in a generation talent, as well as being a very humble, caring human, who advocates world peace wherever he goes. I discovered Dimash 7 years ago, soon after he had appeared on The Singer competition, so I’ve been following him for quite a while now. I have watched him mature into the phenomenal singer and performer that he is today. Naturally I have my own favourite songs, Ikanaide, which he sang in Japanese at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival, is definitely up there. He wears a grey jumper in the MV and is just in a studio, no audience, no band, just Dimash and a microphone. As well as a newer version of Omir, which he originally gifted to his Dears, (his name for his fans/followers), on the 25th May 2023 his birthday. I love that version, but the recent one which he performs with his brother Mansur touches your heart, and is definitely one of my favourites. Other songs I recommend are The Story of One Sky, an epic song and MV, which lasts nearly 14 minutes, and took Dimash 3 years to complete. Be With Me, another brilliant MV, with a great vibe. Across Endless Dimensions is another favourite. It was used in a film, and the MV shows clips from the film as he sings. There are so many fantastic Dimash performances, and now you have discovered him, he’s got you! You better strap yourselves in, it’s an amazing ride xx
"Omir" the music video shows what the lyrics are about. The live is nice, but doesn't really show the reason for the words. Music video was much more important. The live is sweet, but the mv shows his life. Much more interesting and powerful for people trying to get to know Dimash. PS "Omir" and "Omir Oter" are two different songs.
We waited a long time for this and it was worth it. Who knew we needed a long-haired Dimash?! This is a mash up of Bram Stoker's "Dracula", "Interview With a Vampire", Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Meatloaf's "Bat Out of Hell". Love this mv. Dimash is an instrument, or should I say, MANY INSTRUMENTS! Dimash is a MASTER, in ALL the Genres he interprets. Dimash is magical in every way. His work ethic, talent, humility, and kindness are unique, and all encompassing. Dimash is LOVED Globally. So thankful he is INDEPENDENT, and can develop his craft, as he wants. Glad you guys were impressed. I only discovered him since summer of 2023. Late Dear (Dimash fan) Lots of Dears had been following Dimash since as early as 2017. But better late than never. I listene to him every day. It's like a sweet addiction that I will never want to stop. Once you guys go down the Dimash rabbit hole, you will know what I mean. He is super talented and yet super humble. He has absolute pitch, and trained his voice so thoroughly that he sings so effortlessly. If you guys are interested in checking out songs he composed, then here's just a few. Unforgettable Day (He composed this when he was still a teenager), El Amor En Ti (His first Spanish language song), Be With Me (English), Story Of One Sky (English. This one took him 3 years to compose, his masterpiece). I think his most loved cover of LOVE IS LIKE A DREAM is in the Kremlin wearing a maroon velvet suit. The most stunning cover of ADAGIO is in SINGER 2017 Ep. 6. I have watched 10 reactor's, male and female, cry while watching this video. And please, when you review a video, always let the whole video play, from start to finish. Dimash is a musical genius and understands using a silent buildup to create tension. This is especially true in IKANAIDAI. When you review this one, please let it play until you're sure it's over. Great that you checked out Dimash's latest opus right after the one that brought him fame across the world. You were so right, even after only two songs, that Dimash's voice is not only there to deliver the lyrics, but serves also as an instrument in the context of the arrangement. There is no better song to prove this than Know, which has several versions on RUclips. All of them have an extended section where he sings without lyrics, but there is one very trance-y version where he only vocalizes throughout the whole performance. Support Sinful Passion as your next reaction, it shows how great a musician he is to transmit emotions, and he ends it with a vocal firework that some vocal coaches have deemed the best 25 seconds of singing they have ever heard.

Dimash truly is a once-in-a-lifetime artist who can sing all genres of music & with an incredible range of 7.7 octaves. Yes, please listen to Sinful Passion & Stranger. Dimash has perfect pitch and can also do what he wants consistantly whenever he wants. One never knows what he will come up with next. As for Covers, you will rarely recognize a cover compared to the original except a few that were done as tributes. He usually "makes" a song his own in such a delightful way.😂 In fact your first reaction to SOS was a cover. Several original artists of covers forbad Dimash from singing them again. I suspect because his version was so very much better than the original.😅 Sinful Passion is also a cover but he rearranged the lyrics and changed the song so much that nobody could ever duplicate it again. Too be honest the original Sinful Passion from the 90's was very boring in comparison.🙄 Many of Dimash songs are very different from version to verson as well. He is always trying out new things. For example SOS/2021 Digital Concert has really strong Rock vibe and he emphasises his lower register more in that performance. Slavic Bazaar SOS has more high notes in contrast. It can be very important to react to a specific version in a request. For example 🎹 Olympico/Arnau Concert is found on the composer Igor Krutoy's channel and it is by far the best Live version for most fans. Another great reaction to this amazing dark love song. I hear you about prioritizing non covers and will break that down for you. I've focused on Dimash for 2 years, long enough that I'm "99%" certain about the following details, but it's possible I have gotten something slightly off:
*#1 Songs he both composed the music for, and wrote the lyrics for* . So far, just one, _Omir_ ("Life"). (Note, _not_ Omir Oter.) This is a masterpiece. I recommend you react to the one he recorded with his brother this year. (And after that, either watch on your own, or react to, the mood video version he released on his birthday last year.)
*#2 Other songs he's composed* . (Wikipedia claims 7 of his "singles" were composed solely by him, including _Omir_ but no one has yet added _When I've Got You_ so this number is an underestimate. It also credits him as co-composer of 2 of his "singles". Again, that might be an underestimate. And I imagine he's written songs not classified as "singles", though I didn't think of anything missing when I just checked.) His dad wrote the lyrics of _My Beauty_ , his first composition by him when he was 15 years old. One of his backing singers, Jordan, is credited with writing the lyrics of one of his own composition "singles" but I think that's a mistake and that she's written lyrics for two of them -- _Be With Me_ and _Give Me Your Love_ . Imo some of his compositions are timeless masterpieces, and all are high quality, where by the latter I mean songs like the one you just reacted to; imo it's not what I'd call a masterpiece but is what I'd call high quality.
Then there's his *originals* for which he is _not_ credited as a composer:
*#3 Songs written by world famous friends **_specifically for Dimash_* . Igor Krutoy, one of his mentors, has written a handful for him, with lyrics written by various people. The lyrics for _Your Love_ were written by Lara Fabian, one of his idols and mentors. All these songs are stunningly good, even more so than with Dimash's own compositions (which is saying something, as you will discover), perhaps because he just focuses on creating art, and not the aspects that make him different, whereas they know the aspects that put him in a class of his own and focus on that to create compositional masterpieces.
*#4 Songs written by others who maybe weren't his friends prior to creating songs that are nonetheless his originals* This includes a good number of sound track songs created for movies, TV shows, and computer games where Dimash was chosen as the singer. (He won at least one award for best song in all three of those media categories.) This category also includes those he commissioned to write him songs. For many years (5?) his live concert opening song has been a pop/rock banger with English lyrics _Golden_ that was composed by a group of song writers that may not have been his friends prior to their commission. I'll add _Together_ here too even though it doesn't technically belong here in the sense that the composer wasn't a friend. That's because the composer was his younger brother, who composed it when he was 15 years old. Dimash then turned into a family affair song and MV.
And finally there's his *covers* -- where he's not credited as composing them but almost certainly played a major part in arranging them for his voice and performance:
*#5 Covers of songs written by the same friends I've listed above* Igor Krutoy has composed or co-created hundreds of great songs (which is part of the reason he's a billionaire). Dimash has selected a half dozen or so of his absolute best from those hundreds, and has then arranged them with Igor to suit his vocal and performance preferences. Dimash also covered _Adagio_ -- most memorably for the 6th round of the 2017 The Singer competition. (You watched his SOS from the first round.) He had come last in the 5th round and was anticipating being dropped from the competition, which would have been a terrible blow, if he didn't pick an absolute banger of a song to cover (it couldn't be an original) _and_ knock it out of the park. He fell in love with Lara Fabian (as a composer and singer at least) when he was 12, and he just knew he had to cover Adagio. He'd either win or go out in a blaze of glory. The result was beyond stunning, equal parts utterly exhilarating and utterly exhausting.
*#6 Other covers* Apart from when friends are involved, I don't know which covers he sings where he's spoken to the creators/licensors _before_ performing a cover of a song, but I _do_ know some songs where we know he did _not_ contact them first -- because they banned him performing the song after they became aware he had done so! There are three of these I know of. First is the Ukrainian song _I Love Only You_ which he sang so perfectly and exquisitely that he won a singing competition singing it -- but was then banned from covering by its author Oleksandr Ponomariov. Next came _Opera 2_ by Vitas, which was his 2nd round entry after SOS in the 2017 competition, in which he upped the stakes Vitas had created in a fun way -- but which led to a conflict between the show's organizers and Vitas which led to him being banned from covering it again. And then _Hello_ by Lionel Ritchie, which was his guest entry in the 2018 The Singer competition, in which he owned the song like no one else could -- and then got banned.

Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality...
Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is:
A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures.
Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing...
The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details.
As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone!

The ones before this one were a quiet and emotional song about his life in Kazakh, a French operatic aria (with Placido Domingo), a Kazakh folk-song he modernized and a Chinese (kinda Disney-like) duet at a movie awards show.

This is the first time we saw Dimash do something like this. The composition was written by him.(The guitar solo was epic!) The styles were new for us too. His english has gotten even better. In the 1st video you watched, Dimash knew songs in English, but did not speak it besides a simple greeting. He is mostly fluent in English now.
He has many videos that are mini movies.
His best and most important video is "The Story Of One Sky". (2022) Dimash worked on it for 3 years. He wrote the music and the script. The lyrics are by the Russian poet, Lilia Vinogradova. It's about war and the subject matter is heavy, so be warned. Dimash knows a lot about war, Kazakhstan has only been a free country since 1991.

As you have both come from a different genre, it’s so good to see your sincere reactions to Dimash’s songs/MV’s. He is definitely a once in a generation talent, as well as being a very humble, caring human, who advocates world peace wherever he goes.
I discovered Dimash 7 years ago, soon after he had appeared on The Singer competition, so I’ve been following him for quite a while now. I have watched him mature into the phenomenal singer and performer that he is today.
Naturally I have my own favourite songs, Ikanaide, which he sang in Japanese at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival, is definitely up there. He wears a grey jumper in the MV and is just in a studio, no audience, no band, just Dimash and a microphone. As well as a newer version of Omir, which he originally gifted to his Dears, (his name for his fans/followers), on the 25th May 2023 his birthday. I love that version, but the recent one which he performs with his brother Mansur touches your heart, and is definitely one of my favourites.
Other songs I recommend are The Story of One Sky, an epic song and MV, which lasts nearly 14 minutes, and took Dimash 3 years to complete. Be With Me, another brilliant MV, with a great vibe. Across Endless Dimensions is another favourite. It was used in a film, and the MV shows clips from the film as he sings.
There are so many fantastic Dimash performances, and now you have discovered him, he’s got you! You better strap yourselves in, it’s an amazing ride xx

Glad you guys were impressed. I only discovered him since summer of 2023. Late Dear (Dimash fan) Lots of Dears had been following Dimash since as early as 2017. But better late than never. He is super talented and yet super humble. He has absolute pitch, and trained his voice so thoroughly that he sings so effortlessly. This one took him 3 years to compose, his masterpiece). I think his most loved cover of LOVE IS LIKE A DREAM is in the Kremlin wearing a maroon velvet suit. The most stunning cover of ADAGIO is in SINGER 2017 Ep. 6. I have watched 10 reactor's, male and female, cry while watching this video. And please, when you review a video, always let the whole video play, from start to finish. Dimash is a musical genius and understands using a silent buildup to create tension. This is especially true in IKANAIDAI. When you review this one, please let it play until you're sure it's over. You were so right, even after only two songs, that Dimash's voice is not only there to deliver the lyrics, but serves also as an instrument in the context of the arrangement. There is no better song to prove this than Know, which has several versions on RUclips. All of them have an extended section where he sings without lyrics, but there is one very trance-y version where he only vocalizes throughout the whole performance.
Support Sinful Passion as your next reaction, it shows how great a musician he is to transmit emotions, and he ends it with a vocal firework that some vocal coaches have deemed the best 25 seconds of singing they have ever heard.
Don't hesitate to do covers. Dimash turns them into his own originals. Sinful Passion that you mentioned is a "not to be missed" performance.

Dimash has perfect pitch and can also do what he wants consistantly whenever he wants.

As for Covers, you will rarely recognize a cover compared to the original except a few that were done as tributes.
He usually "makes" a song his own in such a delightful way.😂 In fact your first reaction to SOS was a cover.
Several original artists of covers forbad Dimash from singing them again. I suspect because his version was so very much better than the original.😅
Sinful Passion is also a cover but he rearranged the lyrics and changed the song so much that nobody could ever duplicate it again. Too be honest the original Sinful Passion from the 90's was very boring in comparison.🙄
Many of Dimash songs are very different from version to verson as well. He is always trying out new things.
For example SOS/2021 Digital Concert has really strong Rock vibe and he emphasises his lower register more in that performance. Slavic Bazaar SOS has more high notes in contrast.
It can be very important to react to a specific version in a request. For example 🎹 Olympico/Arnau Concert is found on the composer Igor Krutoy's channel and it is by far the best Live version for most fans.
