I'm with ya. I actually met him in person right after I learned to play this song on my guitar. He performed in Alexandria Virginia at a concert venue that I was working at called The Birchmere. He's so down to earth. I was smoking a cigarette and he came outside to the smoking area. ❤

I was inspired to sing it after seeing Howie perform it with Better Than Ezra when he was a fan at their concert. Lol, I'm a young kid, at the age of only 14, a freshman in high school. Listening to this song, as a 7 year old, I thought the tune was awesome, and the vocals were spot on. I loved the song. I learned it on the guitar. Now, growing up with the song, I've deciphered the legitimate meaning of the lyrics, and I can safely say that I'm blessed to have learned it on the guitar back then, because now, I can seriously sing to this song with such passion and meaning like I should have been all this time. It took me 6 years to do that to a song like this. It could probably take me 2 seconds to decipher the meaning of any pop song nowadays. #WhereHasTheMusicGone

Plans and dreams seem to spiral out of control. We lose track of time. I have been a widow for 5 years now. It seems like yesterday I hear this and wish there was a reset button in life

I'm in my 60s and this was one of the last great songs recorded (2004). You missed all of the great music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. They don't make THAT kind of music anymore! The 90s were okay. After around 2005, it all went in the toilet...with few exceptions like Ne Yo, Calvin Harris, and The Weekend.

Working as an overnight CNA in assisted living we played the Y2K music channel on the living room tv whilst we cleaned. And suddenly all 4 of us 30 something year olds hit nostalgia like no other. I was 15 when this came out in 2003. Now I’m 34 and not where I wanna be. I immediately when part time two nights a week and signed up for vet assistant school. When this song played I felt my youth of never ending dreams again. Life flew by. I am gonna pursue my dreams now cause the clock is ticking fast and time is moving. No more wasting away at nursing homes for less than $15 an hour.
Update. I quit my CNA job and now I’m going into the Veterinary Nursing program afterwards. I am gonna do my Pre-Vet associates degree too. And hopefully get into an actual Veterinarian program in 5 years. We shall see.

2008, 14 years old and fell in love with my best guy friend - this was my song to him, used to have a lil guitar/vocals duo with one of my school friends and we learned this song together, hearing it in Summerland (2005/6 show) whenever I re-watch it, and The Perfect Man (Hilary Duff movie). This is another stop on my journey to finding music I liked as a kid
I remember this song back when it was MTV and the radio, if you didn’t on the album, or cassette, you had to wait until they played it again. Never heard this song back then and totally forgot about it until now. Not sure what I just heard it on. Very thankful to have heard it again!
