For PBS viewers as each season is aired (now season 3 )the story and acting just gets better, and better. So keep watching these two fine actors, who will surely have long careers after this.Just love these two together.
I was a big fan of the original series with Robin Ellis. But having seen episode two of this new adaptation I really think they've nailed it. Now I can't wait for the Sunday to come round. This week Elizabeth walked into Ross's house after Demelza opened the door for her. You could really feel the animosity bristling between them without either of them saying a word - great acting!!!!
I watched the 1975 Poldark series last week, then started watching the remake with your squeeze....and to be honest as handsome as Aidan is, the 1975 wins hands down for romance, the chemistry between tall dark handsome Robin Ellis as Ross with diminutive Angharad Rees as Demelza was pure magic.
Nora Bondø, same here! Haha, jeg hadde ikke trodd at jeg skulle se deg her. xD Jeg har sett deg på PrebzOgDennis videoer, og ikke minst Addexio. Aidan Turner er en flink skuespiller, også er han hot.
I have seen this series twice during the pandemic it hs beeitched me but I think the charismatic Aidan is the reasonn but I do not feel like seeing again ever sinve i looked up for other films of Aodam nd having seen at least twenty of them in luding commetcials i cannot help admiring this exellent s tor capable of changing his looks according to the role so i go on.wstching him whererver he appears and end up having another look st Poldsrk
After watching the interview with both of them on The One Show - they really do have chemistry. Also, Not sure this will run for a long time because Aiden is too good looking and a very good actor - he'll be swept-up by Hollywood.
I have been such a fan of the original. I have read all the books numerous times. I didn't think I would be too crazy about this new version; however, after seeing this preview I must admit I am intrigued. I will definitely be tuning in. However, I do want to say that if you have read the books you can picture Robin Ellis as the one and only Ross Poldark.
I've never read the books, but I am a huge fan of the original series, I am the same as you, it is hard to get the original Poldark out of your mind, (and Aidan himself admitted it in an interview, that he has a tough act to follow). Robin Ellis was such a strong, noble, tortured man as Poldark, and Angharad was a cute and annoying as a puppy dog, but with a strong sense of justice and sense of playfulness, they worked so wonderfully well as characters together. I hope the series will also have the scheming and business dealings with Warleggan that the first series had. I don't mind bodices being ripped and half-naked lake-emerging men, but a drama needs substance as well.
Carol Ciancutti Ralph Bates was a brilliant George Warleggan, because he was scheming and underhand and horrible, but at the same time, he still had those dark handsome looks, the sly smile and eye, and he was villanous but exotically charming at the same time for all the girls.
Carol Ciancutti And my favourite character and actor from the original series....Dr Dwight Enys, played by the quietly suave and handsome Richard Morant. I wonder how he will be played in this new adaptation? OK, I know...I should stop remembering the original series, and comparing them, it isn't fair. Tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis. I am always glad if they just get the uniforms right.... half the fun of acting in a period drama must be the chance to dress up in those fancy beautiful 1780's British officer's army uniforms
Poldark premieres in the UK on March 8th, but if you're in the US, unfortunately you have to wait until June 14th - unless you watch the series online.
I saw this series. It was okay, kind of overrated. Felt like a historical chick-lit story in all honesty. I've seen way better Period Dramas. This wasn't one of them. It wasn't horrible, just not great.
This looks great! I can't wait to see Aidan Turner again. OMG, I love this guy!

Looking sooo forward to this and it's only 24 hours away... loved Aidan since Being Human and it's great to have him back on tv.

Robert Nicholas Yeah- it was really tense!
I just got so INCREDIBLY excited.
You will love this, (very lucky lady from England), he really smoulders. Cannot wait for Sunday's now.
Why is Aidan always stuck in love triangles? First with Tauriel and Legolas, and now this! XD

I just watched this past Sunday and I am already in love.

I total agree with you. It wouldn't be the same if they didn't have the sneaky business dealings of Warleggan!
Carol Ciancutti
Ralph Bates was a brilliant George Warleggan, because he was scheming and underhand and horrible, but at the same time, he still had those dark handsome looks, the sly smile and eye, and he was villanous but exotically charming at the same time for all the girls.
Philip Williams Absolutely! That's another comparison that will be made. The whole cast have big shoes to fill!

AidanTurnerForever Thank you for the info. I will be watching.
whereyat89 And sink me! I think the date, on my PBS channel at least, is now June 21.
I hope I like this. I really just could not get into the Outlander--even though I loved the books. This guy is freaking Bruce Wayne!
Aidan Turner actually reversed my menopause.....
Will this come on SKY channels?
But why would Elizabeth and Francis get engaged so quickly? Answer me this.
I can't make my mind up about Demelza. She looks 'too well fed at Waitrose' to me.
Mr Darcy? Who's Mr Darcy?
+ElledieWildAndFree Any idea when this is coming back on in the U.S.?
+GiGi June, according to some other comments on here
ElledieWildAndFree Gosh! Oh well there is some new stuff on PBS Masterpiece to watch until then I suppose. At least Downton is finally back!
I saw this series. It was okay, kind of overrated. Felt like a historical chick-lit story in all honesty. I've seen way better Period Dramas. This wasn't one of them. It wasn't horrible, just not great.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE WAY AIDAN SAYS "am i"
