Actually quite a struggle here to not burst into tears of nostalgia and love for this music. Howard Jones was the guy who got me into synthesizers. Yesterday I talked to Tears For Fears about sound banks that I have been programming and delivering to them. I have also delivered sounds to Scritti Politti. It all started with Howard Jones Human's Lib. Still got the cassette tape.
This album inspired me to learn how to play the keyboard and program synths. I'm a nobody musically, but what a great release it is to come home from a stress filled day at work and play this whole album now. Now with soft synths. it's no stress to set up the keys and just play. Human's Lib is still in my top three albums of all time. What a masterpiece!!
Absolutely Brilliant!!!....this song makes me cry!!....I don't know why!!....the music and lyrics just have this overpowering effect!!....I guess that's the magic of Howard, one of the 80's greatest musicians!!........thankyou Howard!!!!!
I owe my music career to this genius. Howard’s a classically trained pianist with the talent that captured the true sound of the 80’s, and he used very little sequencing live. Met him in Perth and he promised, if I get a Jupiter 8, he would sign it, might need to take out a second mortgage though :)
I heard this song in 1984 but somehow had forgotten it's name, but remembered it's creation story. I have so wanted to hear it's theology again for decades. Deep
Saw Howard Jones last night at the gig in Gloucester Guild Hall. He was absolutely awesome. Highly recommended. Thanks for posting this great song. ATVmidlandsUK
What an incredible version on par with the original with a little extra touch here and there and keeping that original sound with the original rig That amazing sound from the famous roland jupiter 8 which he made famous seriously good stuff right here truly awesome
Glad you enjoyed it but not unheard of here (Australia). He had a major tour here in 85 and again with a more personal tour in 2007. I went to both and stayed up all night to watch Live Aid. Also he just toured here (2012) where I saw him again. This song still moves me to tears and is one of my favourite of his, ever since I bought Humans Lib when it first came out. Really glad to see he's crossing generations though and hope people continue to embrace him.
What an absolute music sequencing GENIUS and MASTER or electronic music. Your music will always stand on it's own foundation of greatness. Thanks Howie for teaching us the possibilities of synth music! Great!
this remains one of my favourite songs. Just bought tickets for his accoustic concert in the United Kingdom. Looking forward to it in Sept. Thanks for posting. ATVmidlandsUK
Me encanta!!!!!!!

it takes special kinds of people to imagine this music if thats what it is. It also takes special kinds of people to really enjoy it. Something about the space the earth was moving through back in the late 70s to early 90s.
for anyone who programs and uses old analog synth and drum equipment, this is pretty amazing. drums on roland 808, 2 prodigy's, juno 60 and of course howards fav jupiter 8. all howard. quite a feat back in the 80's. music production is so much easier now with computers. this performance and the others on this disc took some talent. just awesome
Have to say it original version and this version and acoustic live aid are incredible and mezmerising the only way it can be discribed Actually no words can discribe Keyboards here sound fantastic and the as always his incredible interaction with the crowd takes it to cloud 9 and beyond AMAZING PERFORMACE OF AN INCREDIBLE SONG WOW

One of the best songs I have ever heard.
A highly under rated musician. This was a class tune which most people at Live Aid loved. Can't be too bad. Very talented man.
He’s so gracious, self deprecating and sweet. A beautiful man and artist. I highly recommend seeing Howard live these days.
I love this song! Howard Jones is one of my first idol...
I heard this song in 1984 but somehow had forgotten it's name, but remembered it's creation story. I have so wanted to hear it's theology again for decades. Deep
One of Howard's greatest songs, very deep and moving lyrics along with the beautiful synths. Masterful, thank you Howard.
Possibly my favourite song of the 80s. The crowd interaction is real nice
One cannot imagine how awesome it is to be on stage and have the whole audience sing a long to your own music! EPIC!
None of us mere mortals can understand that; no chance at all. But we're not Howard or Nik, are we?
Paul Lavan ;)
Those synths give me goosebumps ,Thank you Howard !

The Roland Jupiter 8 should be next to the violin as the greatest musical instruments ever made. Howard really brings it to life...
