Spartan fans better hope that if Smith decides to leave Michigan State, he doesn't announce it to the team the day before their big rivalry game, like he did in Corvallis.

@@joeplonka6568 Uh, that's a no, Joe. I'm a life-long Oregon State fan with no connection to Michigan.

@@JohnOdermott maybe you guys should of kept the Pac 12 intact. Also should of put some sort of resources together so OSU could compete against Oregon/Washington.

I just hope he’s good enough at MSU to get better job offers at this point

Don't be, great coach but he'll turn on you the minute something better comes along.

Great interview. Great hire in East Lansing. Hopefully Coach Smith can establish some consistency and become a top contender in the Big Ten again.

Hes one of the smartest guys in college football. crazy competitive and will win a ton a MSU. he took a program that was in the toilet and with very little resources made them a winner, competing for pac12 title. He just flat out will out coach a ton of guys in the big 10. MSU gives him the tools to plug in. I hate that he left but cant blame him. pac12 leadership was garbage.

Quit calling him Jonathon, his name is now Benedict. As in Arnold

I’m a state fan. Coaches are kind of like girlfriends, if she cheated and left a guy for you, it’s probably not a good sign.

This case is a little different as the Pac-12 is gone, in all but name.

    He should be ashamed.

Absolutely, I've got no problem with someone wanting to make more money, everybody does, the way he went about it was a disgrace. Oregon State is the only reason he was ever to be anything more than a high school coach and he betrayed us. Used to look at him as a savior of the program. Not just as a coach but as a player. Used to think he was a good guy, now I have my doubts. I think eventually he'll regret what he did. I'll never hold him in the same regard I once did. GO BEAVS!
