Finally got round to trying this and it’s delicious. Whenever I try anything new I half or quarter the amount of the ingredients in case I don’t like it or it doesn’t turn out. I wish I had made the full amount on this occasion. Definitely a keeper.
Soaking is a simple process, hardly takes 10 mins to clean and add water to let it soak Consider giving 10 mins before you go to bed and in the morning you can do the rest of the process.
What aashsbadami4149 meant was you can’t just do it instantly. You have to plan in advance. Also one would have to really measure the spices and ingredients out in advance. I have health issues and certainly couldn’t do it all in the morning. Maybe it’s okay to soak through the day and prepare the batter the evening before?
That dosa looks beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing. Makes me wonder if we can combine any carbohydrate and any type of lentils to form Dosa. Is there any type of lentils that can't be used the same way? Could you please tell me why this doesn't need to ferment to get the benefits while normal dosa batter does need it? Thanks for your informative videos and it's always exciting to learn a lot of new things about food from you. Keep going ❤️
Yes you can make dosa with any lentils. Urad dal is preferred for fermenting dosa batter because we rely on the wild yeast and bacteria easily available on the surface of the Urad dal. Hence dosa made with Urad dal easily ferments. However, in South Indian cusine Adai dosa is a non fermented dosa but has lentils and you add certain spices to help with digestion and soak the grains too. This recipe is inspired from Adai dosa. Fermentation may depend on the wild yeast and bacteria on the lentil. You can try to ferment though. Hope this helps. Thank you for being here.
Soaking overnight ....how come its instant and whats the oats you are using is not clear....if we use the normal oats will the process of making dosa remains same ?
Hi Nisa. When I soak millets should the soaked water be discarded or cook it in the same soaked water. Your recipes have made a big change in my health. Thank you ❤
