Hi thank you so much for your comment. Really appreciate it. I’m starting another build in early Feb and this time I hope to put out a few videos of the build. Still very new to this but I’ll try and improve with every video. Hoping to put out one every 2-3 weeks.
Thanks James, I’m about to start another doblo camper but this time with a bit of video footage here and there, once that’s done onto a vivaro to convert for the wife and I.
Hi, lovely conversion. Do you know the maximum bed length you can squeeze into one of these? Also is their a fittable swivable passenger seat that you know would fit? Eyeing one up... Cheers
Good morning. With some careful planning you can get a bed 6’1” long and 3’3” wide or wider if you don’t have any sort of kitchen or a narrow kitchen. I’m pretty certain there are swivel plates out there in the market. Good luck and take your time.
@@HuSiaCat I think you might struggle as your driving seat will also be further back due to your height. You could possibly put the sofa/bed on the passenger side making the bed longer if you put the seat forward enough but still making it comfortable for passengers.
@@Robswoodworkingdiy Hi yes I was thinking passenger side for the bed. Also looking at Bunk beds as an option for two instead of the traditional narrow double. With a fold down top bunk making the sofa back during the day. Then the top bunk has additional length with the passenger seat forwards and down. Would need to be hinged to fold when not being used as a bed but would also make a side to the sofa behind the passenger seat for arm support. Few other issues to iron out with that strategy!
Hi, thanks for the comment. The bed is 39 inches wide and just under 6 foot long. I’ve tried it next to my wife and it was ok, a little snug but hey it was my wife.🤣🤣 or it would be a very spacious single. Would work for 2 though.
@@Robswoodworkingdiy not at all, You build a kitchen unit where the mid height section can be removed when the van is in bed mode and the foot end of the bed extends into the area below the kitchen worktop - it's doable because I've done it myself. So a 2.1m van could give you a 180cm long bed.
@@downwardlymobile4957 and where do you put the kitchen when in bed mode. This build is 39 inches wide so not a bad size and just slides out instantly. No messing taking kitchen apart every night you want to sleep.
Hi, which did you prefer? The doblo with the floor lower or this one with the drawer there instead? I have an doblo with low floor I can't decide what to do! Thanks, nice views.
Hi Oliver, the lower floor gave the feeling of a little extra space and head room which was nice to have but if I build one for myself I’d go with the drawers personally. Storage is key in small vans is my opinion. I’ve been engineer for nearly 15 years and I’ve noticed there’s never another storage space. Once I was sat on the seat it was nice and didn’t feel enclosed. Hope this helps.
@@Robswoodworkingdiy I was thinking of having mine converted in the next few month, do you take on conversions or just do them for yourself to sell? I'm in Halifax West Yorkshire and I'd be looking for someone to do mine.thanks.
@@yorkshirepudding6456 hi, yes I do offer vehicle conversions. I’m only in north wales so not too far. The conversions take me no more than 2 weeks. My email address is thecaravandoc@yahoo.co.uk. If you’d like to get in touch and we can swap numbers there for a discussion if you’d like. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. As I’ve mentioned in the videos I’m a caravan and Motorhome engineer but have started converting vehicles. I really enjoy it and love seeing the finished product. I’ve been a hobbyist cabinet maker and woodworker for the last 10 years also.
Hi Vivienne my email address is northwalescampers@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks. If you could pop over what you’d like in the build, ie water, electrical etc. Thanks.
I. LOVE. THIS.!!!!!
I have exactly the same Doblo and can't wait to do this to mine too!
Well thought out and nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

There’s one big problem with this camper ! It’s not mine 😂👍
This is fantastic, I am looking into getting a doblo, so will be back again to ask about booking in with you!!

A caravan bunk bed would be ideal for that. You’d have to keep it fairly low to enable them to bunk to have some space above.
Amazing!!!
Very nice. Greetings from greece
Thank you so much. Help from a wet and cold day in north wales.

Was the van built to sleep two people? If so, what width is the bed?
