It's his third season so give Dan at least another 2 to 5 years now. Yes he got great resources great etc etc and etc. but I can think of 5 or more coaches who got the same. I think the transition to the Big10 will be tougher than most people expect. It's not that Oregon won't have the talent, it's that every week is a new opponent. Plus, every Big10 team will want to beat the incoming Pac12 teams out of principle--that "welcome to the Big10, kid" mentality. I think they'll play up and give their best, which will be tough for Oregon. I just think it's inevitable that Oregon drops a game or two that they "should" win based on roster as they're adjusting to the conference.

    • @alumniduck
      @alumniduck 8 дней назад

      I agree. I see the Defense getting markedly better. The question is where will the offense be without Nix. Worse? about the same? even better? As for having that bullseye on their backs, Oregon is used to that. It seems other teams play their best against Oregon. There is always a learning curve when dealing with new stadiums and new fans. That is where Oregon will fall. Additionally, Oregon doesnt have throw away conference games any more. Each week is going to be a tough opponent so bring your best or swallow a bitter loss. That wears down any team and injuries could derail a great season.

    • @georgelucas2571
      @georgelucas2571 6 дней назад +1

      I mean to be fair, Oregon is already used to teams playing their absolute hardest against them. Not just their big rivals (UW, Oregon State, Wazzu) but even the bottom feeder teams like ASU, Arizona, and Cal would give Oregon everything they had in the PAC 12. I think they’ll be fine.

      Yet when the game was on the line and the Ducks needed to score Bo Nix couldn't move the offense or get it done when he had to have a score -- in either Washington game. He couldn' even come close to converting a fourth-and-short that would have won the game. He's a stat collector on a team that more often than not has a lot more talent than the other team. Eugene is warmer, but not drastically in mid-November, and many Duck players come from cold climates, and some Wisconsin players come from warm climates. The long-time Big Ten teams might be more challenged by the beginning of the wet season in Eugene in November: Neither the Ducks or the Huskies are likely to panic in 35-degree weather: Eugene - November High: 53° / Low 38. 11-1 or 12-0. It all depends on the Ohio State game. I think they will run through everybody else and Ohio State at Autzen will decide if they’re undefeated or not. If they lose to the buckeyes at home, they will beat them in the Big Ten championship, most likely. If they win at home, they most likely lose to Ohio State in the Big Ten championship. Also, Gabriel is a solid QB with a ton of experience. In Oregon's offense, he can shine. He throws a terrific long ball - probably better than Nix and the Duck's receivers are going to win those battles. Here are the 2023-24 rankings, excluding private schools and assuming FSU is slotted by Oregon and Auburn. First off, my previous numbers were a bit off on Texas; this data was reported to the NCAA and states, not from ON3. Also, Tennessee's amount was from 22-23 because it hadn't been reported or recorded yet, but now it has been reported and is closer to Texas' number, potentially being first with $24 million.

  • @timalan7406
    @timalan7406 12 дней назад

    It is going to be much tougher to win in the Big10 than you think.
    Oregon is good, so they have a 15-20% chance of beating Ohio State in any given year- Michigan 40%, Penn State 50%.
    The other teams will give you anxiety you never expected.
    Oregon will lose to Ohio State and one other team, probably Maryland or Wisconsin.

    Honestly, I’m not that big of a Dan Lanning fan. Oregon has had an embarrassment of riches for years. They are consistently in the upper levels in recruiting classes and they have almost unlimited wealth from Nike to pay any money the transfers demand. Their facilities are second to none with state of the art equipment and accessories most teams could only dream of. If you don’t believe me look for yourself. There are actual videos on RUclips of some of the amazing facilities they have. Having all this, Lanning really should have reached the mountain top by now. Instead he was out coached 3 games in a row by Kalen DeBoer at Washington. Oregon is really talented this year and despite some questionable coaching decisions to come, Oregon will most likely beat everyone except Ohio State.
