My father used to make fibreglass eskies . He was self taught and would do a hell of a good job on them . They were quality and held ice for ages . Everyone in town wanted one . Oh , nearly forgot to mention , he built a 40 ft fibreglass boat from scratch . Super proud of his skill .
As a shipwright myself, I'm glad you did this and can appreciate how much work goes into building stuff out of fibreglass. I'm also happy to be out of the trade 😂 Look forward to pt2.
Nothing wrong with a well made fibreglass esky. Looks like its gonna come up a treat, best thing about building shit. You can build it how ever you want because YOU like it. Think everyones forgetting hes got a yammy. Quality episode mate. 🤙
Cheers legend. Yeah that’s it mate, our boat has hatches for the fridge under the floor, so we custom built this esky to allow easy access into that, also enough room for swags down the sides when on reef trips, and also adequate room at the rear for cutting bait etc. all this and you also get 400ltrs or esky, 45ltrs of bait storage, 71ltrs of storage/2nd esky that’s detachable, another rigging/cooking area, and 3 more seats…don’t see any Icytech esky’s with all that 😂
That little red Haines at the start is epic!!!😊 Shauno and the lads do awesome work!!!
You know the weather has been shit when you do a 2 part video to make a esky 😂
Whole video would have been 50 minutes long…I decided to split into 2 and put a fishing vid in between..
It gives you a real prospective of just how much goes into building an esky. Can’t wait to see the final product 😀
Cheers mate! It’s a long process !

Should have built it with fire blankets to save some $$. I recall someone using fire blankets to build a boat back in the day.
I’ve never heard of that being done! That would be interesting to see haha
