Bro shoutout to Kenny for adding that Luther sample 🖤💜🩶 My grandma who passed away almost 10 years ago loved rnb & would play Luther Vandross etc all the time. Really love this album !
First few listens made me judge it quick, i admit i am a new Kendrick Fan. I never believed in the whole 'give it time' thing until now, from the day it dropped, this album went from a 6 to a solid 9 for me 😅 Ive learnt my lesson to not judge his music quick. His lyrics are so compressed, i keep on hearing new things everytime i hear the songs, and the vibe has gotten to me now. Im definitely a Kendrick fan now
@@ttdanimations1231yea but when Kendrick does it, it comes off more with respectful intent and much more thoughtful… when Drake does it, it almost sounds like a sound bite. Whether it is or isn’t… Kendrick’s interpolations are just better
Honestly. I think Reincarnated and Heart pt 6 are top 20 maybe top 15 kdot songs. Now i gotta give some time before being sure. But jesus they are perfect
Knowing these songs and knowing how to perfectly sample them and knowing how to create a track that perfectly elevates both the original and the new song, especially through lyrics like in Reincarnated's case, that's a sign of a great artist
Reincarnated is a masterpiece being slept on right now, the three stories he tells are so articulate and so interesting. Especially the one where a the person dies from a heroine OD
This ep is a masterpiece....pretty much a mixtape project and arguably the greatest mixtape ever....Dot is really showing there's a gap between him and everyone else.
@CrownedxKay the samples...mixtapes usually are know for being sample heavy as far as covers instead of using pieces of a sample...the heart pt. 6....he never puts the heart series on his albums....no promo from interscope....even after the drop... Etc.
Brooo I thought the same thing!!! I swore I was hearing "One Mic" vibes from that track!!!!!! On my first listen.. I was lost in the zone hearing that type of beat style
Debbie Deb getting a shoutout and lots of love on social media was great to see. That vocal hook has been Audio opium for decades now. So much of this rebirth in 80s/esrly 90s music isn’t giving credit or shine to what they’re sampling or paying homage to.
THIS ALBUM IS AMAZING. So much debt disguised as bangers. Also, I can only imagine how cali is feeling !!!!!! Kenny really did put the west on his back and in the map once again! Also also, heart part 6 is beautiful 😢
Thank you for pointing out the Biggie line! I’ve seen so many people react to tv off and that line went right over their heads but they caught every other reference!
Words cannot express how much I love the fact that he reference that D4L track but I heard it in The jerk wasn't it. When I heard him say "starting to see spaceships on Rosecrans" I freaking flipped out I was like this guy is a boss!
He absolutely went hard with this project! I mean EVERY SONG IS JUST 🔥🔥🔥 This man is on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. Luther voice just sends pure CHILLS down my ENTIRE BODY! One of my ALL TIME GOATS! SIR KENDRICK has officially been added to it. Hearing his ENTIRE catalog from the past till now is just PERFECTION! The growth and diversity is OUTSTANDING!!!
It bothered me when I heard people say they were disappointed, describing the sampling on this album as lazy, as though nothing this camp does is intentional. This was the dopest tribute I heard in so long. I’m waiting for someone to make the Apple Playlist to get kids listening to these old hitters, I played every one for my children, until then I’ll check out your Spotify dip. You gone eat these green beans little n***as. Great shorts and album review Jah.
When I heard Man at the Garden, I automatically thought of In the Air Tonight totally forgetting about One Mic until people started saying that was the reference/sample lol. I feel like it matches in the air tonight more even though that’s what was sampled in One Mic. It kinda reminds me of Ariana Grande’s early songs would use familiar samples that we’ve heard from classic hip hop but she’d (or, her producer) sample the original song and not the classic hip hop track. Teh fact that he used the cafs name in the album GNX. The black car is a Buick GNX from 1987 and its a rare gool muscle car. I have always listened to kendrick but these ones are bars🔥
Biggie, Pac and Nas samples on one project is amazing
Really sells that 90s feeling
Biggie one was an interpolation not a sample
@ true
The One Mic sample blew my mind, one of my fav Nas songs
Yea or byting.. guess depends on who you ask 🤷🏽♂️ I know when rappers y'all don't like do this it's byting and not being original.. weird
