Not sure how else to contact you. I have done a few of your modeling tutorials, and I am loving this one just as much. However I am getting a result early in the Crater section of Part 2 that is wildly different from yours. When I hook up the Crater height to the mix node, the planet turns white and all I can see is the craters on the sphere. Sorry I have gone over and over it and I cannot figure out what I am missing. Thanks and again, I didn't know of any other way to make you aware of this.
Hmm, the only way I could figure this out is to actually see the node setup. Can you send me a message on my website contact page? You can find a link to that on my RUclips about page. I will email you back, and you can attach a screenshot.

I love procedural planets!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us Ryan.
I hope you have a great weekend! 😃
Thank you!
Making like life multi planetary! #Starship
Yesss!! 👍 👍
Another suggestion, how about a parquet wood floor texture?
thanks for the idea! 👍
Great tutorial!
glad you like it!!
Amazing 🤩🤩
Thanks!
Your the best . if you scale the sphere will blender lag more?
Thanks! no, scaling the planet shouldn't effect lag or render times.
damn this a complex material. but i love it. will surely do this one!
yeah, it is a bit complex. You don't have to add all of the custom values to the node group though, if you don't want to. : )
How make this in blender?
ruclips.net/video/q1YqX_5zrYk/видео.html
maybe I can make a tutorial on that sometime.
👍👍👍
thank you very much!
amazing bro nwn
Thank you!
Looks awesome! Could you technically create any planet real or fake with this node setup?
Yeah I think Blender's nodes can make pretty much anything. : )
Great tutorial!
Question: Why an icosphere rather than a UV sphere?
It is a more even shape, a UV sphere will pinch, and cause shading issues at each end.
@@TheDevian That makes sense. Thanks.
@@noeldc You can also use a quad sphere for good topology.
am seeing some badass fresnel 😊❤
👍
Hey ryan!! If you want to make the same thing look toony, how'd you do it ?
Hmm not sure exactly. I do have a stylized shader tutorial, and a toon shader tutorial, if you want to check those out.
@@RyanKingArt can you link me across to it please ?

I went to your contact page. Can't find a place to post a message?
I went to your patreon page and sent a "Teaching" message. Hope that works.

Can you update some of these planet tutorials for 4.0 ?
they should still work in 4.0
@@RyanKingArt the problem is that the bsdf is much different compared to older versions though.
It look a little bit different, but it still works the same. @@renealbrechtsen9743
